Hi,
I have just installed Enfold and trying to preview I got this message : “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION, expecting ‘)’ in /home/annikapa/www/WordPress/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/php/font-management/class-avia-font-management-base.php on line 429”
Can any one please tell me what to do ?

October 4, 2018 at 6:41 am #1017705Hi,
Thanks for the login details and sorry for the problems. Could you try to completely delete the theme under Appearance->Themes, then upload the new copy downloaded from your Themeforest account to see if that helps please?
Best regards,
RikardOctober 4, 2018 at 9:38 am #1017781Hi Rikard,
Thanks for your answer. I downloaded the Zip again. I then tried to install it by uploading the zip in the backoffice. It loaded then said something like timeout !?!
SoI used Fillezilla to place the Enfold directory under themes which seemed to work. Back to the backoffice tried preview but still same error “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION, expecting ‘)’ in /home/annikapa/www/WordPress/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/php/font-management/class-avia-font-management-base.php on line 429”Help !!
October 4, 2018 at 11:19 am #1017826Hi,
Thanks for the update, do you know which version of PHP you are running on the server? If you don’t know you should be able to check with this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/display-php-version
Best regards,
RikardOctober 4, 2018 at 12:53 pm #1017867Thanks once again. My PHP version : Running PHP version: 5.4.45
Looking forward to you reply
AnnaOctober 4, 2018 at 2:14 pm #1017901Hi Rikard, actually the version the plugin gave me is 5.4.45 but my provider says it is 4. 4 :(
There seems to be a few ways to upgrade it but I am a bit afraid of doing a mistake.
What version of php would you recommend ? I have the latest version of wordpress on my blog!
ThanksOctober 4, 2018 at 2:30 pm #1017909Yeah!!! While waiting for your reply I upgraded my php version to 7.0 (should I go higher ?)
AND ENFOLD WORKS !!!!!! Thanks for your help and putting me in the right direction of the PHP version.October 5, 2018 at 5:27 am #1018121Hi,
Glad Rikard could help, and that you got it sorted out. You do not need to go to a higher PHP version, I recommend using v7.0
Unless there is anything else we can assist with on this issue, shall we close this then?Best regards,
