I am bummed.
I have been a big fan of the Enfold theme and have used it for a number of sites that we developed for our clients — but was still excited to see the additional features offered by Enfold 4 especially in the area of Layer Sliders.

My first step towards resolving the problem was to confirm that PHP Multibyte Regex Functions were installed — they were.
My next step was to compare the Enfold v3.8 version of phpQuery.php to v4.0.5 version. There were only a few differences and none that were related to mbstring functions.
So I tried importing a Layer Slider that worked under Enfold v3.8 to see if it would work under v4.0.5 and was shocked to see that the ability to import Layer Sliders is not included in v4.0.5
So I have two questions…
1. Why don’t Layer Sliders work under v4.0.5…??
2. Why was the ability to import Layer Sliders removed in v4.0.5…??

P.S. — The Layer Sliders at my sites that are running under Enfold v3.8 are still working fine.
Hey solidvapor,
Layer Slider is a third party plugin that comes with Enfold, most of the questions you’re asking should be asked to the Layer Slider developers. The has been yet another update and it might not be backward compatible with the sliders built with way older versions of the Layer Slider. Unfortunately, it is not up to us.
If you have any particular issues that you need help with, please describe them in more detail.
