Latest Enfold. I’ve tried using the settings within the theme and get no response for each post. On the home page and subsequent blog post page, the posts do not show up similarly. Some do and some don’t. I want just the image, an exert and a read more link. No other info.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter.July 30, 2017 at 9:08 am #831747Hey smorgan7777,
Thanks for the login details, though I can’t see much of your installation since the user doesn’t have admin rights. Could you upgrade the account please?
Best regards,
RikardJuly 30, 2017 at 4:02 pm #831839Yes, you would need that. Sorry. It is changed to allow Admin access.
I really need help with this issue.
Thank you.August 1, 2017 at 7:53 am #832664Hi,
Thanks for that. I see that you are using both the theme Layout Builder and then default editor when creating your posts. When you use the Layout Builder then you will have to add all content manually to the post, the excerpt as well. If you can’t see the excerpt field then please try to tick the box under Screen Options in the top right hand corner of the screen.
Best regards,
RikardAugust 1, 2017 at 3:41 pm #832935On my blog page, both of which are now using the ‘grid’ theme layout (home and Agility for beginners), some of the posts have exerts and some don’t. Can you please explain why. Exert is turned On for those pages.
I saw the setting you referred to, but it wasn’t working. Or I was doing it wrong.
Thanks for your help.August 2, 2017 at 7:39 am #833235Hi,
Have you entered the excerpt manually in the posts where you are using the Layout Builder? If not, they will not display an excerpt, you will have to set it manually if you use the Layout Builder. If you want to add an excerpt, edit the post in question, click Screen Options in the top right hand corner of the screen and tick the Excerpts box. You will then get an extra field down the page where you can fill out the excerpt.
Best regards,
RikardAugust 2, 2017 at 4:46 pm #833550Some of the posts show exerts and some do not. I didn’t do anything different for them. I just want the ones that don’t show the post to look like the ones that do. No settings are changed between them.
August 2, 2017 at 4:50 pm #833552I bought this template to update my blog because I’ve purchased and used it so often for many of my web site design clients. I thought it had good support. Now it seems I can’t get any help. From what you are saying, I need to go put an exert for every single post. That’s not how it should work. An in fact it’s not how it has worked, since some of the posts have exerts and some don’t. If that’s the only way to get the elements to look like what I want, I’m going to have to change templates.
August 2, 2017 at 7:35 pm #833605I’m adding a custom exert for the pages I’m using the Avia Layout Builder. It seems counter productive to me to add a nice editor but then remove the features that make it automatic. To have settings that don’t have any affect is misleading. Theme options should work for when using your Advanced editor. But even in Default editor mode, the Theme options are not working. I still have not gotten an answer on how to turn off categories or dates listed under my Blog post. I’m getting slow, vague and incomplete support on this issue.
This was my original request regarding how I want to display my blog posts, “…I want just the image, an exert and a read more link. No other info.”
The only answer I’ve received is that I have to put a custom exert on each blog post. I’m very frustrated with the slow support. It’s taken me almost a week to not get any answers.August 8, 2017 at 11:02 am #835777Hi,
We are very sorry for the late response. Since you’re using the advance layout builder for the posts, WordPress won’t be able to pull out the excerpt automatically so you have to create it manually. Please note that the “Blog meta elements” theme options rea not going to work for the Masonry element. Please add this code in the Quick CSS field to remove the date.
.av-masonry-date.meta-color.updated { display: none; }
Best regards,
