    Hi,

    I tried to update Enfold from version 4.4 to 4.4.1., but I got an error message:

    An error occurred while updating Enfold: Download failed. A valid URL was not provided.

    I found the post below, but I couldn’t solve the issue yet.

    First, I tried the solution mentioned by Günther:

    Please replace enfold/framework/php/auto-updates/class-pixelentity-theme-update.php with
    https://github.com/KriesiMedia/enfold-library/blob/master/temp_fixes/Enfold_4_4_1/class-pixelentity-theme-update.php

    Unfortunately, it didn’t work.

    Then I considered the solution mentioned by Yigit:

    Could you please try updating the theme via FTP – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold

    Therefor, I would have to login to the Envato account that was used to purchase the theme and download a zip file to update Enfold via FTP.

    So I asked the host of my website, which bought Enfold for me, if he could give me the password of the Envato account he used to purchase the theme. Unfortunately, he couldn’t give me the password because it was the business account of his company he used to buy all the themes for his clients.

    Instead, the host of my website suggested that I should create a new Envato account. Then he would agree to transfer the license of the theme Enfold he bought for me to my new account.

    I wrote to the Envato customer success team and asked if it would be possible to transfer a license of Enfold to a new Envato account. Unfortunately, the answer was negative:

    All purchases and licenses are bound to the account (since the license belongs to the account holder) and they are not transferable … you may go ahead and repurchase the item using your own account.

    I’m quite willing to buy a new license of Enfold to replace the current one, but I don’t want to have to create my whole website again. I’m really worried to loose my data.

    How can I replace the current license of Enfold by a new one without having to create the whole website again?

    Hey zizibe1,

    When you buy the license you get the key which you add in the theme options and the website will work as it did, but now you will have the Envato account and will have control over it.

    I created an new Envato account on themeforest.net, bought a new license of Enfold and went to Enfold Child > Theme Options, but I couldn’t figure out where to add the item purchase code. Could you please tell me what to do now?

    Hi,

    If you want to enable automatic updates you need to generate an api key first (screenshot/instructions: https://kriesi.at/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/images/layout/FIND_API.jpg ), then go to Enfold > Theme Options > Theme Update and paste the api key into the “Your Themeforest API Key” field. You also need to insert your themeforest username into the “Your Themeforest User Name” field.

    If I understand you correctly, I only have to replace the api key of the current license of Enfold by the api key of the new license of Enfold to replace the current license of Enfold by the new license of Enfold. Is that correct?

Now that I’ve bought a second license of Enfold, my question is if I could add the new license of Enfold to this forum account or replace the old license by the new one.     Ah ok, sorry for misunderstanding. You are free to register a new account with the new license if you like, if you just want to just keep on using your existing account then you don’t have do transfer anything. Hope that answers your question :-)
