I have a Portfolio page that, all of a sudden, it started behaving like this:
- If I edit it (even a simple added word at the end) and “Update” it, and then I select “Preview in new tab” from the “preview” menu (top right of the screen), I see an OLD version of the page.
- If I click on the link “View Portfolio Entry” that appear for a short moment in a popup windows (bottom left of the screen) just after completing the “Update” action, I see the latest page, with my brand new edit.
The first link “Preview in new tab” looks like this: https://www.sentierigressoney.it/portfolio-item/gressoney-saint-jean-sentiero-11b-valle-dei-principi-2/?preview_id=8261&preview_nonce=2f432b8b01&preview=true (this one shows an old version)
The second link “View Portfolio Entry” looks like this: https://www.sentierigressoney.it/portfolio-item/gressoney-saint-jean-sentiero-11b-valle-dei-principi-2/ (this one works fine)
I’ve already tried several times to rebuild the page: I copied the whole shortcode text and I pasted it in a “new portfolio” page, and then I removed the old page. This did NOT fix the issue, unfortunately…
Any idea why is this happening? Should I simply eat it, and keep on opening the preview page with that link?

RikardHi Rikard. I’ve tried using Edge: same result. I’ve cleared the cache: same result.
Do not forget that it is happening on this portfolio page only. All the other pages are fine.In Private Content I’ve entered user/pw and the link to the portoflio page.
If you access the page with the link I provided, you will see a TEST KRIESI text on the top of the page, in a Special Heading block.
Edit the page, do a simple edit and then click on UPDATE and then PREVIEW: you will not see TEST KRIESI, nor any other edit you may do.
If you access the “plain” link I’ve sent you, TEST KRIESI is still there…Thanks for your help!

Thanks for that. The Preview function in WordPress doesn’t always parse the theme shortcodes correctly unfortunately, and that seems to be the case with the Portfolio item in question. I’m not sure why that is, but you could try removing elements which might contain special code or similar on the page in private. Also, why do you need the preview functionality, if the post is already published?

Ok, I removed all “CODE BLOCK” blocks that were containing a special code used by the “Waymark plugin” that I am using. Same result: if i UPDATE and then click on PREVIEW, I still cannot see the latest editing.
Also, why do you need the preview functionality, if the post is already published?
I am used to work with one browser tab open only (the Edit one): when I need to check the result of my editing I open the page in a second tab with the “Preview” (and then, after checking it, I close it and get back to the Edit tab).
If I cannot use that link, I must always keep a second tab with the VIEW of the portfolio page I am working in EDIT in the first tab, and switch to that tab (and refresh it) when I want to see the result of my publishing. It’s a different way of working: ok, I will do it for these “faulty” pages, if this issue cannot be solved.

Thanks for the update. I’m not sure exactly what is going wrong unfortunately, but since it’s only happening on one post, then it’s likely related to the content on that particular post. It’s hard to find out exactly what content is responsible though. Does it make any difference if you switch to the Classic Editor on the main page of the theme options?

You won’t break anything if you switch the editor in the theme options, the Enfold Layout Builder will remain the same.

Ok, done: nothing changed, same result. The preview button is not “previewing” the latest version, also using the Classic Editor.It is absolutely weird, but I will eat and digest it if there are currently no solutions.
I think it is something that needs to be fixed, though, because it is very annoying for an unexperienced user: the first time it happened, I thought that my page was broken, and I rebuilt the whole page from scratch (my pages are very complex)…
When it happened the second time on another page, I was going to rebuild it again, then I realized by chance that the page was actually correctly working, and the issue was in the “Preview” function only.
