    First of all, I’m not sure wether the portfolio function is from Enfold or a WordPress standard.
    Is it possible, to restrict the responsibilities of a user with the “Author” role to not edit the portfolio but only the posts.

    You might want to look for a plugin that allows you to control the roles.
