Posts Order to Use with Masonry

I was given the advice to use this plugin to order posts for masonry grid (http://wordpress.org/plugins/post-types-order/) It was working well until I realized a small problem: it orgranizes ALL posts not just one category which makes it very difficult to use.

I found another excellent plugin to order posts inside a category, but this one https://wordpress.org/plugins/reorder-post-within-categories/ (and actually other post ordering plugins as well) don’t seem to work at all with masonry grid.

Is there a special reason this ordering plugin of posts inside one category isn’t responding?
