Is there a way to put the title of a blog post in the header (under the navbar/logo)…over a background image (the featured image).
This seems to be a very popular layout nowadays.I assume it can be done using the advanced layout editor with a color section > putting in the featured image as the background image> than adding a title in the color section….But I’d rather not have to use that editor for blog posts. If ever a change is needed, when I revert back to the normal editor it seems all the content can be lost. I was looking for a more “automatic” way to do it.
Thanks
April 12, 2016 at 7:01 am #611697Hi esemmel,
The solution you mentioned is the the easiest way to achieve that I think, there is nothing like what you are asking for by default unfortunately. But you can submit a feature request for it here: https://kriesi.at/support/enfold-feature-requests/
Thanks,

The content is not lost no, but you won’t be able to see it in the default editor window. If you want to use the default editor and still use builder components you can use the Magic Wand tool (last icon on top row): http://imgur.com/GReRtrs

I have tried to find the short code for this, which I believe is [av_section]
But it doesn’t work when pasted into the regular wordpress editorApril 14, 2016 at 5:45 am #613466Hi,
Unfortunately there are some limitations on what elements you can use in the default editor yes, not sure what way you would like to go though, I would suggest that you only work with the Layout Builder as you can achieve more or less any layout with it.

RikardApril 14, 2016 at 7:04 pm #614199Hi, Yes I understand what you are saying, but this really makes a blog reliant upon 1 theme and if in the future there is an issue or I change themes (which could happen even though I do like this theme) then all of my posts will contain garbled shortcode characters and it will be a huge mess to fix. I think it is a best practice to create all wordpress posts from the default editor so there will not be any issues like this. Pages are a different story because there are less of them and they are not intertwined with each other as posts are.
April 16, 2016 at 7:44 am #615343Hi,
I totally agree with you and I think that will be something that the WordPress community will have to deal with sooner rather than later. When it comes to our product I think the number one selling point is the builder, but like you say, it does introduce some not very nice problems once you would like to change themes. If you want your posts to be compatible with other theme, I would recommend you use the default editor.
