Hi,
First of all, really like Enfold, great job, guys! :-)On my start page I have a Post Slider where I show posts of a certain category and the autorotation feature is activated. I have 10 entries but only 4 are displayed at once.
When I click on the arrow for manual rotation or if I wait for autorotation the 4 displayed posts are simultaneously replaced by 4 other posts.
But what I need is that for every user click or autorotation cycle, only one post disappears on one side (e.g. left) and one post appears on the other side (e.g. right). The 3 other post should move to the left or right respectively.
Before: post1, post2, post3, post4
After one click: post2, post3, post4, post5How can I do that?
Thank you!- This topic was modified 7 years, 1 month ago by Riccardo.
November 18, 2017 at 8:50 am #878413Hey Riccardo,
Thanks for your kind words. :)
We would be glad to help you with this customization, but at the moment there is no easy way to do this by using a small custom code snippet, so I am afraid its out of the scope of our support.
But please feel free to request such feature at our feature request system: https://kriesi.at/support/enfold-feature-requests/
This system allows us to keep track of user suggestions and lets you vote on the feature you would like to see the most. I am afraid though there is no guarantee that a feature will get implemented. If that’s something you really need you can always try to hire a developer for the task :)
Best regards,

Yes, I was expecting this answer because I saw two other threads on this forum that some time ago asked for the same. Anyway, I think with a bit of your help I can try to develop it by myself. Can somebody give a short description what the steps would be and point me to the right files and functions I need to change?
Thank you!
RiccardoNovember 22, 2017 at 10:16 am #880136Hi Riccardo,
Here are the files involved:
php file in enfold > config-templatebuilder > avia-shortcodes > postslider.php
js file is in enfold > js > shortcodes.jsI think you would need to find a slider first that does what you need and rebuild the postslider structure/template based on the slider’s format.

Many thanks for the hints.
When I try to open the postslider.php or the shortcodes.js of the Enfold Child theme in Dashboard > Appearance > Editor, then I got this message: Sorry, that file cannot be edited.
But if I try to open those files of the Enfold theme, it works.
1. Is this a normal behavior?
2. In your last post you wrote that I need to change the files in the Enfold theme. May I ask you to confirm that I have to change them in the Enfold theme and not in the Enfold Child theme? I was almost sure that I have to change the Enfold Child theme to avoid overwriting my code when Enfold gets updated. Thanks,

November 23, 2017 at 3:13 pm #880720Hi,
1. Yes, the child theme is the active theme that’s why you’re disallowed while the Enfold theme isn’t though it’s the parent theme. I would suggest editing via ftp.
2. I was pointing to the files that are involved but I would suggest doing it in the child theme.

I wonder if anything has changed in the subject mentioned in this thread? Was there maybe any shortcut found for this problem?
Kind regards,

February 15, 2020 at 5:39 am #1184646Hi jannnnnneke,
You can set the columns to 1 in the element settings, maybe that is close enough for you?

RikardFebruary 15, 2020 at 8:59 am #1184703Hi Rikard,
Thanks. Could be a nice solution, but in my case I want 3 or 4 projects next to eachother!

February 16, 2020 at 5:19 am #1184922Hi Janneke,
You can set it to 3 and 4 columns as well. I’m not sure if that is what you are looking for, but it’s possible at least.

RikardFebruary 16, 2020 at 12:55 pm #1184964Hi Rikard,
I’ve 3 column layout but when you click on the right arrow, to see more portfolio items, you see 3 new items, but when you have 4 portfolio items you see only 1 item when you scroll. So I would like the slider to slide one by one.. am I more clear now?
Thanks!

This is not available, yet, unfortunately. I will forward it as a feature request.

It will be considered but I cannot tell you when it will be implemented. Our devs are busy with current issues and enhancements. Please be patient :)

VictoriaMarch 5, 2021 at 12:52 pm #1285711Hi,
are there any updates on this topic? It’s been 4 years already.
Is there a workaround? I’ve seen some people trying to solve that by themselves.March 6, 2021 at 9:39 am #1286015Hi emilconsor,
This feature has not been added yet and there is no workaround, maybe there is a carousel plugin that can help you.
If you need further assistance please let us know.
Best regards,
Victoria -
