Blog post slider and list formatting issues

I have two blog issues I need help with formatting. It’s kind of important because this guy worked on it for me and he screwed my page up completely and now it’s a mess! Please help As soon as possible. I do know you’re busy.

1) I have inserted the post slider and it looks “okay”. But I want to put the excerpt on the right side of the image instead of beneath the image. How do i do this?
Currently It looks like this:

2) I would like to show a list of the post titles below a static pic. Like this:

I’m so confused to get this fixed. Please help!
