Post content excerpts – “Username E-mail A password will be e-mailed to you.”

We were collaborating on a blog post, so we password protected it until we were ready with the final version. On our Blog page, we have a list of Recent Posts and for some reason, the brief description has disappeared and it is only showing “Username E-mail A password will be e-mailed to you.” The password protection has been removed. I even went so far as to completely redo the blog from scratch, and still the “Username E-mail A password will be e-mailed to you.” is showing on the Blog page. Any ideas here? I’ve disabled all plugins and still a problem. This also happens if you search and the page or post was password protected at one time.
