I understand that if you use the ALB for posts you will not get automatic excerpts. I have designed recipe cards using the ALB and would like to show the full content of these posts (one for every recipe) by category (all fish recipes in their full length one after the other on the same page). In order to do this I’ve tried figuring out how to edit the archive page so it pulls in the full post by category. No matter what I try (I event tried plugins, but am open to suggestions) I can only see excerpts and I’ve searched through past tickets.
Is it possible to allow a user to click a custom link that’s pointed to a category archive page and show all the full/laid-out posts on that archive page?
You can see how I have the link structure and what a formatted recipe looks like in the provided (private) URLs.
Hey lzevon,
Thank you for your patience and the links, but your best approach would be to convert your ALB posts to default posts, then the whole post would show in the archive pages. Please see the example link below.
You will still be able to use the same custom classes and style.
Is there a reason this would not work for you?
Best regards,
Mike
OK, thanks Mike! For my customer to take the ball with this one I will need to show them how to build (actually edit a template) with the ALB and then move it back to default layout.
Much appreciated!
