    Is it possible to modify the action of sorting on a Masonry portfolio page? Instead of re-shuffling, I’d like the selected sort results to brighten and the other items to just be greyed out. Basically I want the Masonry grid to always be the same and the sort to just highlight the results in a particular category.

    Where/how would I modify the filtering?

    No, unfortunately this is not possible without modifying the theme files. You might need to hire a freelance developer to add this particular customization for you. Please visit Envato Studio or Werkpress for further customization.
