I would like to be able to separate the featured image from the title and excert. In other words I want to show for the same post just the featured image in one column and in another column show the title and excerpt. I would like to also be able to show other posts on the same page, but using the default behavior of the blog post content element.
I’ve provided the URL and a screen shot that hopefully describes what I’m after, hopefully it’s clear?
Thank you!
November 17, 2015 at 6:22 pm #537547Hi lzevon!
When you set the featured image there will be a small checkbox beneath it for hiding it on the single post view. Check that and then insert your own image inside the post content. You can use our column shortcodes to place the image in one column and your text in the other.

ElliottNovember 17, 2015 at 6:33 pm #537551Thanks Elliot, but I’m not looking at the actual post. I’m looking at a page which is using the ‘Blog Posts’ content element. Can you look at the link I provided to see what I mean? I need to know if it’s possible to use the Blog Posts content element to show (where [] is a column and ‘post 1’ is the most recent post)…
[post 1 featured image only] [post 1 excerpt only]
[post 2 festured image/Excert]
[post 3 festured image/Excert]
[post 4 festured image/Excert]

November 18, 2015 at 6:54 pm #538468Hi!
You can change the blog layout in Dashboard > Enfold > Blog Layout. It sounds like your wanting the “single author small” so the featured image displays on the left and the title / excerpt on the right.

November 18, 2015 at 7:00 pm #538474Hi Elliot,
No, I don’t want to affect the blog layout at all. If you read my previous posts, what I have is a Page and I’m using the Blog Posts content element. Did you not see the attachments in my initial inquiry? I don’t know why I’m waiting to hear back from you and again you think I’m talking about the blog Post layout?!
I have a page and on that page I am using the blog posts content element in the visual builder. I would like to know if it’s possible, maybe through PHP customization in the functions.php file and CSS, to ONLY show a post’s featured image in a column – like an additional choice in the “Define Blog Grid layout’ drop down that says “Featured Image Only’ and then somehow show FOR THE SAME POST in another column just the excerpt?
November 18, 2015 at 7:59 pm #538518I’ve reworked it now and figured out how to do some of what I’m after. Now I have to separate the initial blog post’s featured image from the rest of the featured images on the page to treat the scaling differently. Please see attached which depicts how I would like things to line-up and how the featured images would ideally be scaled…
November 20, 2015 at 6:17 pm #539845Hi!
So it looks like you worked through 2/3 questions but I’m not sure what you mean by “IMAGES SCALED LARGE AND NOT AFFECTED BY CUSTOM CSS DEFINED IN FIRST IMAGE”. Can you elaborate?
Cheers!
