Position background picture not showing the right way.
Whatever I choose (for example bottum-middle) the picture always starts at the top.
In the builder it shows it the right way.
Is there something to do about it?- This topic was modified 7 years, 3 months ago by tom.

You image should be only as on the screenshot below. This huge image will make you website slow, the colored top and bottom are not visible here, hard to adjust and so do not make any sense. You need to cut and optimize the image.
Here is some theory for you:

VictoriaSeptember 7, 2017 at 11:29 am #849037Thanks for the answer, but I think you did not understand my question right.
I did not ask how to get images smaler, but how to get the right position of the background picture.
In the builder you go to “section background”, then to “postion background image” where you can choose for several positions, like “top-left”, “top-middle”, bottom-right” etc.
Whatever I choose It always shows the top of the picture, instead of, for example, a peace of the bottom (bottom-middle).By the way, it’s the same when I crop the image like your example (less hight). It always starts at the top.
See what happend http://clubtraktatie.nl/assortiment/brioche-broodjes/I now use a higher image (the same as the saint-pauls-cathedral.jpg, 1155×1732 px, 300 dpi) and put it to “middle-middle”.
It has to be that big to guarantee the quality, see http://clubtraktatie.nl/assortiment/pindarotsjes.
When putting it for example to “bottom-middle” or “top-middle” it have no effect (it still looks the same on the head of the page).
Perhaps you try it yourself and see what happend.Hope I’m putting the question in the right way.

September 9, 2017 at 5:06 am #849823Hi,
That is quite normal because the background-size (Background Repeat) property of the color section is set to “cover” (Stretch to Fit) which means that the image will cover the entire container but parts of the image has to overflow outside the background positioning area in order to keep its aspect ratio. We can set the background size to “contain” or “100%” but it will create white spaces around the container or distort the image. Which one do you prefer?
Best regards,
