portfolio sorting

I’ve got some portfolio entries set up with a limited number of entries on each page. I’ve got the portfolio page set up to show 30 entries and about a dozen different sorting categories with almost 90 portfolio entries. When I choose one sorting category it only shows the options for that category on the first page. Is there a way to choose one sorting category and have everything under that category appear instead of just the items on that page? In other words, there are a few entries under the “print” category on page one of the portfolio but there are more than a dozen entries under the print category that are not on the first page. How can I make all entries show?
