Hallo,

Hello,
I have problems with the display of Portfolio Masonry.
I work with landscape and portrait tags to display some images larger. (double size)
All portfolio featured images are set up in one size.
The problem is that the sorting by date is not correct.
I want 2 columns, with a large image and next to it 2 small ones, one below the other.
In the next row, if possible, the other way round – and unfortunately this is exactly what the taxonomy does not do.
He places the large pictures one below the other, not offset.
Enfold simply puts other images (older dates) in between or it does not maintain the order of the large images.
I have tried everything, including the page order, but I am at my wits’ end. :-)Is there any help?

Thank you for the inquiry.
Unfortunately, it’s not possible to control the order of the items in the grid, especially when the size of the images varies. The sorting is dynamically calculated by the Isotope script, which is also used to sort the items by category. Have you tried using multiple Masonry elements?
Best regards,
IsmaelMarch 12, 2025 at 9:02 am #1479141OK thanks, then the Isotope script is not very logically structured if it is not sorted by date, there are not different sized images but one large one and two small ones next to it and vice versa.

Yes, the Isotope script doesn’t really take any of that information into account. It sorts the items based on their order in the document and the size of the images. If you want to make sure that items are sorted based on their query order, e.g., the date they were published, you may need to select a different layout in Styling > Masonry Settings > Size Settings or use an entirely different element, such as the Post Slider or Portfolio Grid.
Cheers!

Yes, that’s very unsatisfying if you’ve relied on it and the customer wants it that way.
Sorting by date is what it’s called, and if that doesn’t work, it’s a bug.March 18, 2025 at 2:54 am #1479593Hi,
Isotope is a third-party script widely used by many themes and websites. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to control how it resizes or positions the items. If the order of the items is important, you can use the Post Slider or, as suggested above, adjust the Size Settings for the Masonry element.
Best regards,
