Hello,
Is there a way to make my portfolio item display on the blog page?
What I like to do is to have avery portfolio item show on the blog after I added to the portfolio.Is this possible?

You can turn on ALB on blog posts – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/use-the-layout-builder-with-any-post-type/ and then add desired element to your blog posts :)

My website os finished. I’m using my own images and setup.
Will I lose the layout and all the work I did on the site if I install the chile theme?
Or I will lose only the setting on enfold theme options?

You’ll only lose the Theme Settings and the Menus + Widget settings. However, there is a handy button you can use to import the theme settings from the parent to the child – http://screencast.com/t/v9kWPYJLSsL
