    Dear support,

I searched the forum but didn’t find a solution.
Could you please tell me how to display a selfhosted video with a link from a portfolio item as you did it on the demo http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/portfolio/ (the video item with the football image)?
Your item opens a vimeo video: http://vimeo.com/12860646

In my portfolio item I used
    – “Define custom link”
    – and applied a link to a selfhosted video.
This results in not displaying the video in an overlay lightbox but on it’s own page.

    Thanks in advance
    Claus

The same thing happens if I use a “normal” image within a page instead of applying it to a portfolio item …

    Hi!

That’s a vimeo video on our demo. You can use youtube or vimeo there and it will open up in the magnific popup. Unfortunately I do not think the magnific popup accepts custom video files.

You could try creating an HTML file on your server and use a flash player to display your video. You could then create a link to this HTML file and add an ?iframe=true to the end so it open up in the magnific popup.

If it was me though I think I would just upload the video to youtube or vimeo and use that.

    Cheers!

Thanks, Elliott, in the next days I’ll have a try with the extra html file – so please don’t close this topic so that I can post the results …

    Hey Elliott,

your hint with using an HTML file is the key – THANKS!

Try the following steps (not using any extra HTML file or Flash):
    – create a new page (e. g. “My lightbox video”)
    – insert a full image slider
    – add 1 video (“Display video in default mode, black borders …” / maybe “Hide Video Controls”)
    – disable header + footer + socket on this page

On the page where all the videos are listed:
    – at the videos’s preview image insert the link to the page “My lightbox video” as a “manual link”
    – add “?iframe=true” to the end of the link (without the quotes)

Hope I didn’t forget anything – tested on a local install so far …
Please let me know if it works for you too.
