Hi team
On a client website I have just updated to 3.4.7
I have a postslider on frontpage, and here suddenly the portfolios item categories are shown in text above the title? Please, how can I remove this again?
Pls. find login data in private
Very best regards
January 16, 2016 at 6:12 am #566457Hey Carsten,
Please try the following in Quick CSS under Enfold–>General Styling:
span.blog-categories { display:none !important; }
Make sure that you are running a child theme to not lose your customisations on updates: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/portfolio-item/create-a-child-theme/
Thanks,
RikardJanuary 16, 2016 at 2:47 pm #566530Hi Rikard
Thanks a lot. That did it. I really appreciate your great support !!.
However I have 4 clients using Enfold (and more to come), and now I have to make these changes in child theme to all of them, right? I am just wondering why changes like these are made in new versions of Enfold. I guess most people like me would not want to have portfolios item categories shown in text above the title on a postslider?
Very best regards
January 16, 2016 at 9:19 pm #566600Hi!
Yes, please do use those changes to a child theme.
We really sorry for the trouble, if that is an option you really think it should not be there, please do suggest it here:so kriesi can give it a look.
Cheers!
BasilisJanuary 17, 2016 at 6:34 pm #566821Hi Basilis
Thanks for your answer. Much appreciate it.
However: All I want is, that the portfolios item categories are not shown in text above the title – an issue appearing with the update to 3.4.7. I guess this is not a feature request? And maybe I do not know where to look, but I can not see, that it is optional? Can I choose or not choose it anywhere? (besides offcourse the css-code, which works ok)
Thanks again
January 18, 2016 at 6:32 am #566936Hi,
I’m guessing you didn’t have the CSS change in a child theme, correct? If you keep your customisations in child themes then they will override the parent and you will not have to change them back each time you update. I’m not sure where you added the change but please keep it in the child theme’s style.css or in Quick CSS to avoid losing it on updates.
Best regards,
RikardJanuary 18, 2016 at 10:31 am #567042Hi Rikard
Thanks again :)
It seems I am not able to explain this clearly, sorry about that. One last try:
First: I DO use child themes and your css-code DID work – and thanks again!
My only concern or question: Why does Enfold (when I updated to 3.4.7) suddenly show portfolios item categories above the title in postsliders? It did not do that in previous versions. I always use portfolio sliders as ex. presentation of news on the frontpage, and displaying which categories I have given a portfolio item does not serve any purpose. It is abundant information – and should not be there by default in my opinion.
Very best regards

I checked page in private content, but could not see what you mean. Can you highlight using screenshots so we can get a clear idea of what you need? use imgur.com or dropbox.

AndyJanuary 20, 2016 at 10:41 am #568487Dear team
You are an outstanding support team which is one of my main reasons for having Enfold as my absolute favorite WP theme.
In this case however we appearently keep talking past one another and what was meant to be a “little” question turns into something seemingly complicated.
As I mentionned from start the actual problem HAS BEEN SOLVED by the css code given by Rikard. So you will no longer be able to see the problem/issue on any of my clients web sites.
If you upgrade your own demo http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/ to 3.4.7 you might see the same problem – which is: In postsliders the portfolio items categories suddenly appear as a line of text above the titel – which has never happened before. It did so on all of my present 4 living client web sites.
But again: The actual problem HAS BEEN SOLVED. I just wondered if it was not a flaw to display the portfolio item categories in postsliders…
very best regards
January 21, 2016 at 5:43 am #569154Hey!
The categories were added on later versions of the theme, 3.2 or 3.3. :)
Cheers!
