Hi,
I am picking up this thread that was previously closed: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/portfolio-grid-taxonomie/
I have the exact same needs, but the solution in that thread didn’t seem to work for me. All I’m looking for is the ability to sort portfolio categories by “slug” instead of title since a lot of my titles repeat. For example:
GAD SERIES
– Dreadnought (slug = dreadnought-gad-series)
– 12-string (slug = 12-string-gad-series)
– Jumbo (slug = jumbo-gad-series)
– Orchestra (slug = orchestra-gad-series)
ORPHEUM SERIES
– Dreadnought (slug = dreadnought-orpheum-series)
– 12-String (slug = 12-string-orpheum-series)
– Jumbo (slug = jumbo-orpheum-series)
– Orchestra (slug = orchestra-orpheum-series)
I want to do a portfolio page for just the Orpheum Series, showing all Orpheum sub-categories. It’s difficult to know which “Dreadnought” belongs to the GAD Series and which belongs to the ORPHEUM series in the backend. I do not want the front-facing labels to show the Series name so I don’t want to update those titles to include the series name. Any suggestions?
hope this makes sense!
Hi cmgnaomi!
What about it specifically isn’t working?

Devin
Hi Devin,
Thanks for helping! That new line that I added to functions.php (add_theme_support(‘avia_template_builder_custom_post_type_grid’);) didn’t seem to “turn on” the slug versions of the portfolio categories, I’m still just seeing the front-facing versions of the labels and they are’t helpful because they are repetitive.
