Hi guys,
I’m a rooky and trying to build my first website. So far so good.
Have been reading through the (impressive) forum trying to find a solution for the following.
In the portfolio (grid), I would like to show below the thumbnail:
Title
Excerpt line 1
Excerpt line 2
Example:
Company xyz
Jobtitle
Year to – from
In the portfolio items, I can fill in the excerpt, and give a hard enter after ‘Jobtitle’ to write the year on the second line.
On the website, the excerpt text won’t show enters or extra spaces and therefor put the text behind eachother.
Is there a work arounf for this?
Thanks a lot
Dennis
Hey Dennis!
The problem is that WordPress strips all HTML tags from the excerpt by default, try using this plugin:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-excerpt/installation/

Hi Josue,
Thanks for your advise.
I installed the plugin and activated it.
I looked at the settings, and from your answer I assumed I had to look at the HTML tags, so I left the setting ‘don’t remove any tags’ checked on.
My portfolio didn’t change because of this.
As a test, I also set the excerpt length to 2 words, but this didn’t effect the portfolio either.
Would you know what I should do differently?
Thanks and best regards,
Dennis
Hi Dennis!
