    Hello
    I’ve got a french portfolio and want to translate it in english with WPML.
    But when I translate a portfolio item, all is translated except the featured image. It’s not a question of CSS, the picture don’t exist in translated item…
    Any idea ? WPML 3.6.3 / WPML Media / WPML String translation / WPML translation management / ENFOLD 3.8 / WORDPRESS 4.6.3

    Hey romano2,

    You might have to add the image in both languages, did you try that? If that is not the case then please post admin login details in private and try to explain a bit further what exactly is going wrong.

    Thanks for answer,
    I used the Multimedia Translation from WPML. So WPML have translated all existing medias in all languages.
    And I’m sure of this, because when I translate a portfolio item, all images are present in the translated page. Except the featured image.

    What I do :

  • From the portfolio items list (back office), I click on the “+” icon to translate a portfolio item.
  • WPML open the “translate editor”, on the left, the original text, on the right the translation.
  • I translate and valid.
  • If I look at the masonry (front-end) containing my translated portfolio item, I do not see his featured image.
  • Neither in the back-office of my translated portfolio item
  • All other images are translated and present

    • Can you take a look please ?

Hi,

can you provide us precise links of the portfolio items in question please? so we can inspect the elements which are not working for you.

When editing your portfolio item, switch to another language and then a featured image inside of it.

I think i’m not clear enough. This concerns all portfolios that I want to translate.

I don’t want to add manually the featured image in the others languages.
Like text or images in the portfolio content, I would like to have featured image duplicated automatically.
Otherwise I will have to add it manually for 60 portfolios or more, and in multiple languages. Boring…

Why the text and images are well translated, but featured image is missing in translated portfolio’s items ?

Hi,

this is how WPML is working. It provides you the option to adjust everything manually for different languages. Ask WPML support if you can switch off this option somehow.
