    Hi,
I am very confused about the Portfolio Entry Settings – that needs to be inserted. This causes some problems for my site and how the URL are shoen in Google search results – also the Breadcrumb. Is it not possible to NOT use this?

My structure: I have 3 different main product categorties. (they are in Danish, so I’ll write them in English below)

    Display Systems
    Office
    Creative Solutions

Under each category I have place all my products as portfolio items.
So if I go to a product page (portfolio page) I put in a custom permalink. E.g. /display-systems/vip-table-display

“Display systems” is my category and “vip table display” is my product name. BUT in Google search results and i Breadcrumb it uses the “portfolio tem base” from the global settings as URL. I have typed in “products” in the “portfolio items base”. So in Google it will show this:
/products/vip-table-display. This is bad as I want the category to be included. “Display sytems” I can’t just use “Display systems” as portfolio items base, because it will then also show in my other categories. (Creative solutions) Which is not the case.

I really hope that you can follow me on this one as it is very bad for my URL and how Google is showing it. Is it possible to have support over phone if I pay for your support??
I assume that this is much easier to explain by phone. Again, this is very frustrating, so I really want to have this “issue” cleared out.

    Hi t3lgroup!

    Thank you for using Enfold.

Use this plugin in order to modify the portfolio’s url or permalink: https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-post-type-permalinks/

Note that you can only include one category in the url or permalink.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

And this will solve my problem?

What I have: probeco.dk/display-systems/vip-table-display (‘display-systems’ is category and ‘vip-table-display’ is portfolio item)

What I get: (what Google writes in search results): probeco.dk/produkter/vip-table-display (‘Produkter’ is what I typed in the portolio item base, as i have to fill this out. So Google don’t see my custom permalink but uses the portfolio item base…

WHen clicking on the link in Google search results is links to the correct URL and page. So this is good. I just want to have the category included in the search results also.

    Hey!

are you sure this is a theme related question? what would happen if you activate a default WordPress theme? would you get the same result? if yes it would be best to ask your question in general WordPress forum. I think you should try the plugin Ismael mentioned and maybe even Yoast plugin could help you.

    Regards,
    Andy
