Hi there!
I am having trouble with the image quality of my portfolio images in the lightbox – they seem to not be sharp, and being that it is a photographers website, they need to – of course – look amazing!!
The two images I am testing in the portfolio, also appear on the HOME page – so you will get an idea of how great they can look when they display well…but then if you take a look at them in the portfolio lightbox, you will see they don’t appear sharp at all. They are plenty big enough, I have used the same images which you will see on the homepage. Any ideas on what will help this?
Thanks in advance!May 5, 2015 at 8:27 pm #439981Hi carendavis!
They seem to look fine on my end. Can you take a screenshot of what your seeing?

May 8, 2015 at 5:52 pm #441685Hi!
You can upload your screenshots on imgur.com or Dropbox public folder and post the links here. If you would like to know how to take screenshots, you can search “Snipping tool” on Windows or push ” CMD + Shift + 3″ on Mac.
Cheers!

Hmm, I don’t see a difference on my end but the lightbox images are using resized versions. Try opening up /enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/portfolio.php and change line 335 from this.
'image_size' => 'portfolio',
To this.
'image_size' => 'full',

ElliottDecember 1, 2015 at 4:28 am #544974hey guys, been a while, but I am still not satisfied that this is resolved. I tried the above suggesting, but this has not worked. The images should be super sharp, right? They are lovely sharp images when uploaded, but there is just a slight pixelation to all of them once opened in the lightbox. Really need to resolve this as its the only thing stopping me from moving forward with the site now!

Do you mind creating a temporary admin login and posting it here privately?

December 4, 2015 at 12:59 am #546767Hey!
I checked link in private content, but can’t find any lightbox images. We need to be able to see what’s going on for you. However, code from Elliott should work and probably you just need to clear browser cache and hard refresh a few times. Maybe you need to regenerate WordPress’ thumbnails as well, otherwise you won’t be able to see changes.

AndyDecember 6, 2015 at 4:16 am #547524The lightbox images are on the portfolio page of the website. I have cleared the browser cache and refreshed, still no better.
December 8, 2015 at 4:36 pm #548828Hey!
I checked the link you have provided and images are displayed totally fine to me. Can you use screenshots to show us what you see please? you can use a service like imgur.com or dropbox.
Cheers!
AndyDecember 8, 2015 at 4:37 pm #548829Maybe this plugin is something for you: https://de.wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes/ to get more control over image sizes in WordPress.
Cheers!
AndyDecember 9, 2015 at 5:53 am #549479Oh great – that plugin is a legend! It seems the “large” size that was being generated was a different max size to what I had been trying to add, and the resulting downsized version was not at all sharp. I need to refine the thumbnails further now to suit our needs, but I think this will (hopefully) get us there. Thanks that, appreciated.
Question: for the php change that I have made (see above instructions on May 29 2015), where should I put these so that the change is not overwritten in subsequent updates? Thankyou!!December 9, 2015 at 12:02 pm #549625Hi!
glad it’s working for you.
Download our child theme here: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/downloads/, and then create a new folder in the child theme named “shortcodes” and then copy the portfolio.php shortcode file from Enfold into that folder and you can do the edit there.
Best regards,
