Hello,
It seems the Enfold theme is giving some issues with tracking conversions on Pinterest. I’ve hooked up the woocommerce plugin with pinterest so the tag should be in there. However, the tag only fires for add to cart and page visits and then doesn’t do anything for checkout. IT seems that it is related to the enfold theme. Please help.
May 18, 2023 at 6:40 pm #1407861I’ve been on this for about 2 weeks now trying to figure out why the pinterest tag (installed via Pinterest for WooCommerce Plugin) is only working for page visits and add to carts. I installed the google chrome extension: Pinterest Tag Helper to track events. You can see video here: [privatecontent] of me going through the whole process using the chrome extension to check everything.
One thing I did was disable the enfold child theme using the “checks conflicts” plugin and just used the “default theme store plugin” and it fired just fine. See video here: [privatecontent]
So it seems to not be so much a plugin that is conflicting with the pixel tag, but could be a theme issue. Is it possible the tag needs to be inside the enfold parent instead of child? I really don’t know anymore.May 18, 2023 at 7:04 pm #1407864Here is access in private content.
May 21, 2023 at 8:32 pm #1408083Hi,
Sorry for the late reply I’m not sure that I understand this plugin, and I don’t have experience with pinterest, but I found that the tags not working is a common issue on their support page: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/pinterest-for-woocommerce/
and I found their documentation:When I check your page I don’t see any errors in your page so I’m not sure why the plugin is not working, but I have asked the rest of the team if they have any advise.
Best regards,
MikeMay 22, 2023 at 7:33 pm #1408188I have tried to reach out to someone that knows google tag manager and implement it that way. So I’m in the process of doing that for right now, but still not understanding why it isn’t firing.
May 23, 2023 at 5:52 pm #1408316Hi,
As I understand from the documentation above it should only fire after a payment is made, the documentation says to set the payment option to demo so you don’t need to use a real cc card and it also says that it will not work with coupons or discounts that make the item free, I see in your video you used a coupon to make the item a dollar, not free I know, but maybe the coupon throws it off.
I believe your site is live, can you test on a staging site with the payment set to demo and use a test card instead of a coupon?Best regards,
MikeMay 23, 2023 at 7:36 pm #1408329I figured a workaround. It was the google analytics plugin that was conflicting with GTM. I still couldn’t use the pinterest tag, but at least we got it working.
