    Hello. My site recently upgraded to WordPress 5.7.1 and I was advised to upgrade my PHP from 5.6. The options for PHP upgrade are 7 and until 7.4. But when I upgrade to 7.4 while I can see the WordPress interface when I click on a page to make changes I click though to a blank page.

    I also get the following error as well on the public facing site

    “Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /var/sites/c/chelseaharbourdental.co.uk/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/slideshow_layerslider/slideshow_layerslider.php on line 28”

    I have stayed on PHP7.3 and while the website looks fine to clients I still have the issue where if I click on a page to edit it I just get a while screen.

    Please advise? Is this an ENFOLD issue or is it a hosting issue. Website URL in private content.

    PS: – I have just updated to enfold 4.8.1 and still white screen.

    And I have also updated PHO to 7.4.6 and while no longer getting the errors I hd previously I still have a white screen when I click to edit a page. So

    Latest version of wordpress
    latest version of enfold
    latest version of PHP

    All plugins turned off. – still white screen

    Please advise.

    Can you disable Javascript file merging and compression in Enfold > Performance?

    Just disabled file merging and thats not helped…

    Hi KateStuartDesign,

    Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.

    1. Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
    2. Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
    3. Click ” Create New “.
    4. Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
      ( to be sure that we have enough time to debug ).
    5. Click ” Submit “.
    6. You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.

    When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
    If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create an admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.

    Hi KateStuartDesign,

    Thanks for giving us admin access.
    I checked the backend and frontend but I could not see the error, where can we see this?
    Also, are you using a layerslider? It seems the four layersliders are empty (link in private content), can you try to remove them? and see if this fixes the issue

    Hi – if you can actually click on a page as if you were about to edit the text. So for instance click Pages > About Us. When you get to the page itself its just a white screen.

    Hi KateStuartDesign,

    It’s showing properly on my end (please see screenshot on my end in private content).
    Please try to clear your browser cache, it might be fetching older js files.
    Also I tried to search for the error and it does not show as well.

    Oh now I am so embarrassed……. Yes indeed after clearing the cache the page appeared. I am sorry for wasting your time…. Thanks Nikko.
