Hello,
I updated to 4.3.2 and now I get these PHP error messages on the Patheon dashboard when I try to commit the changes:
Uncaught Error: Call to a member function reset_options() on null in /wp-content/themes/enfold/functions-enfold.php:1547

#5 /wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(310): WP_Hook->apply_filters(NULL, Array)
#6 /Do you know what’s going on (I’ve never seen these errors before when updating the theme)?
May 17, 2018 at 8:25 pm #958330I have a few more details on the above:
After the theme update, I had to re-copy the header.php file from the parent theme to my child theme because the last update modified it and was causing my lightbox to not work properly. I don’t know if these errors are because of the new version of the header.php after the theme update. Here are the errors in more detail:

Thanks for that, I see that you are running 4.4.1 now though, are you still having problems? If so, where can we see the actual errors?
Best regards,
RikardJune 9, 2018 at 2:53 pm #970418Hi Rikard,
Yes I’m still having problems even after updating to the latest version of the theme (which I did yesterday). The errors (which are displayed on my hosting dashboard and on the SFTP folder for error logs) are pasted here below in detail. Do you have any idea what I could do to make these errors go away?

That php version is not supported even from WordPress.
I am sorry but you need to upgrade.Best regards,
BasilisJune 12, 2018 at 2:17 pm #971679Hello Basilis,
I don’t understand what you mean…. I’m running PHP version 7.0. and I’m also running Enfold’s version 4.4.1 and WordPress version 4.9.6.
What PHP version should be using?
June 14, 2018 at 1:36 am #972562Hi,
Thanks for the info. I can’t see the error in the page though. Does it occur only when you save the theme options?
Best regards,
IsmaelJune 14, 2018 at 7:39 pm #972970Hi Ismael,
You won’t see the error on the page. It shows on my hosting dashboard and on the error logs. These errors that pop up prevent me from cloning my database from the development site to the live site. These errors show up whenever I try to commit any changes to my child theme files. They first showed up during the update to 4.3.2 (I have since updated to the latest version of the theme and the errors continue to show up). I’ve contacted my hosting provider and they have confirmed that it’s something in the Enfold theme that is causing these errors to show up and prevent the database from being cloned. You can see below the exact errors that we get and how they all refer to something inside the Enfold theme.
This is exactly (copied/pasted) what shows on my website’s error logs:

Thanks for the update.
How do you clone the site? I successfully edited the style.css file via the Appearance > Editor panel which meant that I didn’t encounter the error when I edited the child theme.
Best regards,
IsmaelJune 18, 2018 at 2:38 pm #974282Hi Ismael,
I use Pantheon for hosting, which gives me the option of having a development site to make all and any file changes, then the code for that gets pushed up to the Test site. Once the test site is good to go, then one clones the database from the Live environment while pushing the code changes upward. We’ve never had issues, until the theme updated to 4.3.2 and then on and on after that. According to them, something within the theme itself is causing these errors to show up on the dashboard and also on the error logs. Like I mentioned before, you won’t see any errors on the actual site. However, these errors that happen due to the theme are preventing me from making any updates past the test environment because something within the theme files is preventing it. Does that make sense?
Have you ever encountered errors like the ones I mentioned above?
June 19, 2018 at 2:27 am #974573Hi,
Thanks for the update.
We haven’t encountered this error before, unfortunately. Please create a restore point or backup of the database and files then edit the functions-enfold.php file. Comment out line 1566 temporarily.
$avia_superobject->reset_options();
That is where the error originates. Execute this right before you attempt to clone the site from development to production.
IMPORTANT: You may not be able to save the theme options properly after disabling the “reset_options” function so only disable it when you’re done with the settings.
Best regards,
Ismael -
