Hey Guys
My agency, my partner and I have purchased a combined 16 licenses for Enfold last year and given the theme is our “to-go”… and this year, we’re on track to do upwards of 30 more licenses. Unfortunately I am very hesitant to do so now as updating the theme while my server is running PHP 7 has become a disaster. I”m getting dozens of “fatal error” messages, PHP issues and such and theme fails to update altogether. An IT person that we hired said that the theme isn’t compatible with PHP 7 and so I”m trying to see why such a wonderful theme has now become so riddled with issues on updates. I’m almost scared to update anything, even plug-ins for client websites thinking I’ll break it. Please advise. If compatibility with PHP 7 is not there, when will this be implemented?
Thanks

Thanks for using Enfold. The latest versions of the theme is fully compatible with PHP 7.x, so it might be something local on the server you are running the site. Could you please provide us with a temporary admin login so that we can take a closer look? You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply.
Best regards,

I am using several websites with Enfold and PHP 7.2 or 7.3 behind it – works like a charm.
So my guess is that it is either the plugins you are using or the server infrastructure that causes fatal errors.Cheers

I am also using Enfold and have upgraded the server to PHP 7 without any issues. I did encounter an issue with a page that had an Advanced Layer Slider when I tried PHP 7.2. However, neither PHP versions broke the Advanced Layer Slider that displayed on the homepage. Only when trying PHP 7.2 did I have an issue on a separate page.
Have you tried the PHP Compatibility Checker plugin? You can easily run a scan of your theme and plugins before ever changing/upgrading. If issues are found it will generate a report and identify what and where there are incompatibilities.
