Hi,
Everything was going smoothly with my development, I had implemented all I wanted when I realised that I could not add new images or new plugins anymore.
I also noticed that a new WP version was out so I updated and changed the files attributes (wp-content, plugin and uploads) to 777 via htp client. The result is that now some (but not all) the images are not displaying on the website.
I am using the WPML feature, on the main (english) site some of the styling has disappeared (e.g menu and footer) whereas the French version is styled properly.Any assistance to troubleshoot and find a solution would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and regards,
August 25, 2014 at 11:41 am #308775Hi eurekastudios!
1) Please update Enfold to v2.9.2. You’re using Enfold 2.7.1 which is not fully compatible with WordPress 3.9.x.
2) Update WordPress to 3.9.2
3) Update the plugins (except WordPress SEO) to the latest version.
4) Update WPML to 3.1.7. You’re using version 3.1.5 at the moment.
Cheers!
PeterAugust 25, 2014 at 12:15 pm #308790Hi Peter,
Thank you very much for the speedy reply!
– I tried to update WordPress and failed, I get the following message:
“Downloading update from https://downloads.wordpress.org/release/wordpress-3.9.2-no-content.zip…
Unpacking the update…
Could not create directory.
Installation Failed”– I tried to update all the plugins you mentioned and I got the following message:
“An error occurred while updating Akismet: Could not create directory.”– There is no option under Theme section to update the Enfold theme, should I do that via the FTP?
– Should WPML also be updated through FTP? If not where do I update?
Thanks and regards,

Yes, I think the folder permissions problem. This thread will help you: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/20360396/unpacking-the-update-could-not-create-directory-wordpress
Someone here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/30-upgrade-bug-ftps solved it by deleting the upgrade folder and re-creating it with the permission set to 777 ( http://wordpress.org/support/topic/30-upgrade-bug-ftps#post-1564378 ).
Best regards,
PeterAugust 31, 2014 at 4:50 pm #311566Hi Peter,
Thank you for your assistance. It looks like the issue was a corrupt WordPress install. Thank you for looking at this issue which clearly was not theme-related.
Kind regards, -
