I have a client that I built a website for. I purchased and used the Enfold theme. He would like to update the theme and, for some reason, doesn’t want me to give me the new login to the dashboard anymore. He has asked for the personal token but from searching online, this would give him access to ALL themes that I’ve downloaded for ALL clients, correct? In this case, I should instead create the single use token? If so, can this be done WITHOUT me accessing the site or can HE somehow create this on his end, without my Envato/Enfold login? I do have the purchase code, if that helps.
Please help ASAP – he would like to update the them quickly.

    Hey cmeurer,
Thank you for your question, I’m not aware that a single-use Token can be created, if so then you would have to give it to the client to enter themselves into the theme update option.
But as I understand you would have to give them your personal token that probably give him full access.

Perhaps an option would be to send him the latest version and he can follow the following steps to update himself:

To update upload the theme zip file to your WordPress ▸ Appearance ▸ Themes ▸ Add Themes ▸ Add New
    WordPress_Appearance_Themes_Add-Themes_Add-New.jpg
after you choose the zip file and click install, you will see a This theme is already installed message because you are updating, you can continue
    Installing_theme_from_uploaded_file_This_theme_is_already_installed.jpg
then you will see the Theme updated successfully message.

    Best regards,

He did purchase it, technically – I bought it and he reimbursed me. Don’t think he’s going to want to pay a 2nd time. However, I will try your suggestion of sending him the latest version. That won’t work long-term though…
I’m confused how you would not be aware on the single use token option – isn’t that what this documentation says I need to do?

(scroll down about halfway to where it says “A Note For Web Designers & Design Agencies”)
    Thank you!

    Hi,
Thanks for the feedback, I see that you are referring to the Envato Market Plugin, this documentation says that you would need access to the client’s backend to enter your personal token in the Single Item Token field for them, so it’s not a Single Item Token that you create on your end and you can email them the code, this documentation says you should not give them your personal token. So it looks like he will need to give you access again.

    Best regards,
    Mike
