Permalinks, categories and breadcrumbs

Hey dear all,

currently I am trying to build my food blog (my website is still in maintenance mode) and am facing some problems that I do not know how to solve. Maybe I just make an error in reasoning :-( . Okay, let’s see:

Among other pages, I created the pages RECIPES | LIFESTYLE | BLOG for showing up category posts via Masonry and added them to my main menu. Then I built these pages via Advanced Layout Builder for displaying the posts via Masonry and for choosing to display certain categories.

For displaying the correct URL for each category, I am using the plugin “Permalink Customizer”, e.g: mywebsite.com/RECIPES/chocolate-cookies.

And here I am facing the following problems and maybe all these problems just go hand in hand :-( :

1)
I am also using parent categories and child categories, but they are not reflecting in my URL. Wouldn’t it be better to have mywebsite.com/recipes/cookies/chocolate-cookies instead? Should I remove plugin “Permalink Customizer”? How can I achieve nice URL?

2) Also, the breadcrumbs are looking somewhat weird and also showing always Blog, e.g.:
> Home / Blog / Recipes / Cookies
> Home / Blog / Lifestyle / Products
> Home / Blog / Blog / Ecology

or, when having more than one category, the breadcrumbs are looking weird like this:
> Home / Blog / Pastry / Recipes / Sweets / Cookies / Chocolate Cookies

3)
When selecting the menu item “Recipes” and “Lifestyle” and choosing a post from Masonry, the menu item jumps always to “Blog”.

I just can’t figure what I am doing wrong. Maybe you can be of help for me? Would be so fantastic.
