I have this funny PDF document issue happening on my website. When you click on the PDF and it launched its own viewing page the title in the top left grey bar does not always show the correct title of the PDF. It does for some documents and then not for others. I can’t figure out if it is a website issue or something to do with the PDF itself.

I have made a simple mockup of a few documents that do and don’t have the issue I have described incase you want to test on your own website: http://usa.apsystems.com/resources/library-2/

Here is the link to our main library of all documents on the website incase you wanted to see that:

These screenshots are showing the viewing dashboard and a correct and not correct title: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/wqjz59yecsb5023/AACs-6nUeUHDESmmDcCmW9XVa?dl=0

    Hey debbienz,

They all have titles on my end and I am not sure that this is theme related. It’s just the way that browser opens the pdf file in a new tab.

If you need further assistance please let us know.
    Best regards,
    Victoria

Yes, they do all have titles, but 2 of the 4 do not have the titles showing of the PDF, they show something completely different. I have tested on all the major browsers and it occurs constantly across the board on all.

    Hi,

Unfortunately, it would require quite some time and customization of the theme to achieve this, so I am sorry to tell you that this is not covered by our support. However, if it’s really important for you to get this done, you can always hire a freelancer to do the job for you :)

    Best regards,

But, its a glitch with the theme because most of the time the PDFs show their file names as the titles but sometimes they do not. Why is this? Please explain what the customization would be? It seems your theme should be processing the PDF’s and showing them correctly when clicked.

    Hi,

When you open a pdf file in your browser, it’s opened by the browser itself, not by the theme you might be using on your WordPress site. It would do the same thing on a non WordPress site as well. If you are having problems with the pdf files, then you would likely need to check the files themselves. This has nothing to do with our theme.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
