I have seen this topic on the forum, but it appears that the ‘fixes’ have all been custom so I don’t have a thread I can follow to fix this myself.
I received this parsing error (Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/advent50/public_html/mayflower/wp-content/themes/enfold-child/functions.php on line 15) after adding the custom google font coding supplied by enfold. Now I can’t get back into my site.
Can someone help me out and also let me know what I did wrong? Thank you!

VinayI worked with someone who fixed the code. I still am not certain what went wrong though as all I did was paste the google type code offered in the forum in my child functions.php. I am afraid if I do it again, the same thing will happen…

Glad the site is back up! I guess the code had a syntax error or may be already there was a function by the same name which could have caused a conflict and crashed the site. If you face the same issue again in the future access the functions.php via FTP and remove the last bit of code block that you added and re-upload it. The site should work fine. However it’s best to create a staging server on your local machine to test out codes and move it to live site :)
