Can’t activate the Enfold theme.
Uploaded the theme using FTP.Enfold Theme is showing in the WordPress Theme.
When I tried to activate the theme, it shows
Turning on WP debug
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ”<a href=”https://layerslider.’ (T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE) in /home/handswit/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/wp/notices.php on line 234
This is a new installation of wordpress. Nothing had been done on it yet except to setup this theme.
Already deleted and reinstall the theme, same issues.Wordpress Version 5.3.2
PHP Version 7.2. Try reverting it to 5.6 but same issues.Tried a couple of other themes the installation comes with without issues.

Tried changing the PHP version to 7.3, same error.
March 18, 2020 at 6:00 am #1194013Hi,
Thanks for that. I see the same thing on my end when I do a live preview of the theme. What happens if you delete the whole theme folder, then upload it again?
There are also some suggestions on the page in private which you can try out.
Best regards,
RikardMarch 20, 2020 at 4:57 pm #1194817Hi,
Already tried the following prior to you checking.
1. Deleting the whole theme, add again.
2. Delete and reinstall the wordpress
3. Change the PHP version to 5.6, 7.2, 7.3
All give the same error. That’s why I turned on the WordPress debug mode.Adding the theme vie wordpress admin will give the following message
“The link you followed has expired”Hence am uploading the theme vie FTP. Is it related ?
March 21, 2020 at 5:15 am #1195004Hi,
Thanks for the update. I think this is related to the server you are hosting on. The site health page I linked to is listing that server modules are missing and the that the REST API is not working on your site. Could you reach out to your hosting providers to see if they can tell you what is going wrong maybe?
Best regards,
Rikard -
