Hi Guys!
I couldn’t see where this had ever really been resolved. I’ve seen moderators say it depends on what you want, that it depends on your section size, etc. without necessarily giving a specific answer. I’ve even seen a post where a moderator said, “Don’t get caught up with the “right” height or width of the background images because there is none.” Sorry, but I have to disagree with that. As web designers and developers, we want our images to look great on all sizes of screens from large desktop screens all the way down to a little 320 x 480 portrait oriented smart phone. And we want to be able to predict how an image is going to display. That is after all why we’re using a responsive WP theme like Enfold. We understand that, under certain conditions, some parts of the image may hang outside the screen width. But again, we’d like it to be predictable so we can have the most important areas of the image visible all the time if possible. I think that’s the problem now is that you can spend literally hours and hours experimenting with background image native height and width and still not find an answer that works under all conditions.
All that being said, I would think that there has to be some ratio or formula to use for the relationship between a color section’s height (which is what we can control in the theme settings, right?) and the required native dimensions of its background image that will allow the image to look good at any screen width. I’m not a math genius, but I’m sure there’s somebody out there who’s either figured this out already or could do so in short order. Kriesi guys, come on, any math geniuses among you???

Thanks for using Enfold.
May you share your website link and your WP credentials in the private content, please?
Best regards,
