Hey Guys,
How do I create the Parallax effect with Enfold? I thought I saw something in the editor, but can not find it again.

You would drag a color section element to your content and then set a background and select parallax for the background attachment option.
Best regards,
ElliottFebruary 13, 2015 at 7:59 pm #395985And I repeat this step down/on the same page? And it will create that movement effect?
February 13, 2015 at 8:24 pm #395991Elliott,
I follow you on that. I think where I’m still a bit lost is. When there are multiple pictures and or videos involved. How are they all used to create the parallax effect. I drag a color section on to a single page, put a picture in it and select parallax for that picture. But what about the second, third and forth pictures etc….on that same page.
I do drag a second, third, forth, fifth color section onto the same page and select parallax and the effect is greater or must I go some place else or do something more.
I’ll keep testing to learn more.
Thanks,
David
February 13, 2015 at 9:07 pm #396004Ok, so I tested the parallax effect. And It seems like you drag multiple color sections into the content area and then select either parallax. fixed or scrolled.
But! Whenever I select parallax. It blows my picture image up very big!! I’ve even scaled them down thinking I just had them too big. But even with that, whenever I select parallax, it blows the picture up!
Any ideas why?
I’ll keep testing. Maybe it’s something I’m doing.

The color section can only apply the parallax effect to the background image. If you want to create a parallax slider, use the Layer Slider. Set the Parallax Level of the layer.

Ok, that makes more sense to me. Is there anything else I need t know or look out for? Or basically, just set the parallax on any “slide” layer that I want it on?
Thank you so much!
David
February 16, 2015 at 6:46 pm #396926Actually, is there a document or something you guys have made as to how to to this in the layer slider? Reason being is. I’m not wondering if I just create a single slider with the parallax effect and then move to another “single” slider and put the effect on that and then another “single” slider with the effect on that and then take all of there short codes and put them on the page to create the total effect or do I great everything I want in one big parallax slider and use it’s short code?
So, some kind of documentation explaining more detail would be very helpful!
Thanks again,
David
February 16, 2015 at 6:48 pm #396928Hi David!
Yes, also note:
Applies a parallax effect on layers when you move your mouse over the slider. Higher values make the layer more sensitive to mouse move. Negative values are allowed.

JosueFebruary 17, 2015 at 12:54 am #397184Hey Josue,
I understand that. I think where I’m lost is building it. Meaning, am I creating a “single” slider show and putting multiple pictures in it and applying the parallax effect? Or, and I creating multiple sliders and putting their short codes on a single page?
It’s really a bit confusing and I’m not getting any real answers here. Just bits and pieces. I’ve done a parallax google. Most people seem to create it using code etc….It’s not done that way with the Enfold theme, that’s great but if there’s not documentation to give better information on how to create it. And if no one can give a bit more detail from the support team, then it’s kind of pointless. I don’t mind investing the time if I can see so type of result but there seems to be too many questions and not enough answers.
Very frustrating,
David
February 17, 2015 at 2:37 am #397198Hi David!
I understand your frustration, i’ll try to cut it into pieces for better understanding.
Parallax is a very ambiguous word that represents a bunch of different methods and effects, essentially it’s about creating a subtle reaction to an user action (scroll, mousemove, etc), the thing is that there is no standard for it so if you google it you’ll find new and different “parallax” effects every day.
Now when it comes to Enfold, there are 2 parallax ‘features’ available:
1. Parallax Backgrounds:
This is a feature available for image and video backgrounds in the Color Section element of the Advanced Layout Builder, it will create a nice little effect when the user scrolls throughout the page. You can find a demonstration of it here, note how the backgrounds will not scroll at the same pace of the user scroll.
2. LayerSlider Parallax layers:
LayerSlider, a third-party plugin bundled with Enfold, includes a Parallax feature that allows you can assign a Parallax “value” to a layer so it will react when the user moves the cursor over it, there isn’t an Enfold demo page of it but i managed to create something demonstrative on my sandbox install:
http://bit.ly/1EiDtB3That’s just a background with two transparent-PNG image layers with Parallax values of 2 (grass) and 6 (plane).

JosueFebruary 17, 2015 at 4:15 am #397220Ok, I follow what you’re saying Josue, But I just want to create a simple parallax like this. http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold-restaurant/
I uploaded the demo on my test site and it has helped.

First, please update the theme to the latest version (3.0.8).
It seems you are selecting a smaller version of the images, make sure to select the Full Size version – http://screencast.com/t/uTR3c8CimDr, also try using bigger images (recommended size is 1000px wide).

Josue -
