    Hi,
    I cannot get rid of some “hidden widgets: in my footer a list of pages, categories and archives months are showing up; which I don’t want.
    They do not appear in the widget administration. :-(

    Hey preissg,
    That is strange, we can hide them all for you, but can you please include a admin login in the private content area so we can take a closer look as to why they are not in your widgets area, as that would be the best way to remove them. Do you want “INTERESSANTE LINKS” to be the only one that shows, or do you want that one gone too?

    I went to Appearance -> Widgets and I can see the widgets there.
    Which positions you removed and they are still showing?

    I have no widgets assigned to the footer, but on my webpage 4 areas (Links, Seiten, Kategorien, Archiv) appear in the dark blue footer which I don’t want them there (see screenshot).

    Hi,
    I solved the problem with the widgets in the footer which I did not want to be them there:
    as long as NO WIDGET is assigned to the footer, there are automaticall widgets assigned to the footer area.

    Hi Gabi,

    Yes that is correct, if no widgets are assigned then default ones will be shown in order for there to be content available.
