Page Templates – Can they be edited?

I am updating a site that uses a very old version of the Enfold Theme. It has portfolios on many pages and templates were used to create the pages. The problem is that the portfolio was not contained in a single column so it now expands all over the page. I have maybe 20 portfolio items for each of 15 different templates. Right now I can fix the error by manually going to EVERY portfolio item and adding a column and dragging the portfolio to into the column. URGH. If I could just update the template that was used and have it update each portfolio item that uses that template, it would be great. Is this possible or am I dreaming the Impossible Dream? Is there anyway to make this a quicker fix? Thank you.
