I just updated my Enfold template to 4.5.2. I was trying to update a webpage afterwards, and when I went to the preview it didn’t show the updates. I thought maybe it was a fluke so I tried updating other pages, and the problem occurred with all of them. I haven’t had this issue before, although I’m not sure if it started with 4.5 or 4.5.2 because I didn’t have any webpage updates since I think beginning of December. I tried turning off my caching program and other plugins to see if the previews would update, but they still don’t. This has never been an on the site before.
January 9, 2019 at 6:30 pm #1051989Hey PHLwebmaster,
Please deactivate all the caching plugins and Wordfence and let us know when we can check.

Well, thank you. I tried to make a change on a page and clicked preview, the change was not there. I clicked ctr+shift+r or ctrl+f5 and changes were there. So this is merely a caching issue.
Please try using this tip.

January 10, 2019 at 10:55 pm #1052526Hi, I ended up contacting my hosting company’s tech support. They fixed the page preview problem by installing the plugin for the classic WP editor. Now the page previews show up fine. It looks like a compatibility issue between the Enfold template and WP 5.0 editor. So if I use the classic WP editor I lose some of the theme’s functionality, but the page preview shows automatically. There is definitely an issue with Enfold’s 5.0 performance.
January 11, 2019 at 11:06 am #1052684Hi,
You don’t need that plugin, you can select to use the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.

RikardJanuary 18, 2019 at 6:18 pm #1055583Apologies for jumping onto the end of this thread, but I believe I have the exact same issue (if it’s better just let me know and I’ll start a separate thread). Previews have stopped showing updates made on Pages which use the Avia Layout Builder. HOWEVER, I notice that if I set the “Title Bar Settings” to show Title, updates to the Title text are showing in the preview, even when the changes to the text inside the Avia Layout Builder entities (Text Block within a Layout Container) are not. This eliminates the question of caching doesn’t it?
In line with the preview update behaviour, I notice that if I check the Revisions, none of my changes to any items inside the ALB containers have been registered, even though the changes to the main page title text have.
I find that the changes do show up if I switch to another theme, but when I return to Enfold the old version of the page is still there. This started happening 3 days ago, I think after I updated to WordPress 5.0.3).
I am using:
-
Enfold 4.5.2.
Wordpress 5.0.3I have tried (to no effect):
-
Using a different browser (from Chrome to Firefox)
Clearing the browser cache
Disabling all plug-ins- This reply was modified 5 years, 10 months ago by tomlemes.
January 18, 2019 at 6:30 pm #1055590This issue was fixed when I reverted to the Classic WP editor in the theme options. It seems like it’s an issue with the compatibility between Enfold and the new WP editor in 5.0.

Did you try to activate the Classic Editor in the theme options like @PHLwebmaster pointed out? If not then please try that out.

RikardJanuary 20, 2019 at 2:12 pm #1056152Hi Rikard,
Thank you for your response. I have not. Can you provide instruction on how to get to the Classic Editor? On the top menu, I saw the icon “Default Editor”, I’ve tried all the icons next to it, but am not sure how to get back to the Classic Editor. Any guidance would be much appreciated.
Thank you Rikard!

VictoriaJanuary 20, 2019 at 9:18 pm #1056322Hi Rikard.
You can activate the classic editor in the theme by clicking on your theme options on the left-hand WordPress menu.
On the main theme settings page, at the bottom of the page, there’s an option to “Select Your Editor”.January 21, 2019 at 5:55 am #1056422Hi PHLwebmaster,
Thanks for sharing, much appreciated. Did you find that option @dmenditc? If not then please update to the latest version of the theme which is 4.5.2.

Thanks for that, those details worked. What happens if you select the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options as you editor? I couldn’t do that since the user doesn’t have admin rights.
Best regards,
RikardJanuary 26, 2019 at 3:33 pm #1059145Nothing changes when I select classic editor. I changed your admin rights from editor to administrator. Will you check again? Thank you?
January 31, 2019 at 2:50 pm #1061001Hi,
It’s been over 5 days since I last heard from you and almost 20 days since I started this thread? Please help! The FAQ, Training for Career Coaches (look at the testimonial slider), and home draft pages are not showing changes. Nothing changes when I select the classic editor.Thank you,
January 31, 2019 at 4:06 pm #1061033Hi,
Sorry for the late reply.
I added a testpage “Enfold Test”. For this page the preview works fine as it should – adding a new element shows up in the preview without saving.
It seems that the content of your mentioned pages causes the problem.
Try to rebuild a page element by element and check after each new element, when the preview breaks (and if it is really this element by rebuilding the page again without using this element).
This is the only way to narrow down the problem.
Best regards,
GünterNovember 10, 2020 at 4:11 am #1259448I am experiencing the same issues – page does not update nor preview after making changes. When I click on “update” the tab changes to “updating” and remains stuck there. When I try to preview, it opens a WordPress page, but keeps hanging.
Wordpress version 5.5.3
Enfold version 4.7.6.4Please advise on how to fix this.
many thanks

VictoriaNovember 10, 2020 at 11:10 pm #1259690UPDATE: the issue appears to be resolved.
I happened to log out of the website editor and logged in as a different user and was then able to get the pages updated. I have since logged back in as admin and everything is updating as expected.Any explanation for why this did not work in the first place will be much appreciated since others may have experienced the same issue.
