I have a very strange situation at one of my clients. I set up a new administrator, and now with every page they try to edit, the editor window “hangs” with a busy indicator – the spinning dial. It does not affect me – another administrator – just the new one. I have tried everything – they can’t edit any pages. Also, if I try to add a new post when logged in as the new administrator, and select “Advanced Editor”, nothing happens – I don’t get the normal advanced editor.
Can you give me an idea where to look?
August 27, 2016 at 4:33 am #678393This is the Enfold Theme
August 29, 2016 at 6:17 pm #679080This is now causing me a real problem with my Client.
WordPress Version: 4.6
Enfold Version: 3.7.1
Child ThemeIf I add any new user with Admin (or any other privileges), the Advanced Layout Editor is no longer working at all
On an existing page, on page load shows the busy indicator shows continuously and the content never comes up
On a new page, the Advanced Layout Editor button shows, but if you click it, nothing happens – e.g. it is not available.I am not sure when this started happening – it may have been with the latest WP Update, but I am not sure. The Advanced Layout Editor still works properly for all existing users – for any current pages or new pages. It’s only new users, which I very much need to be able to add.
I have given you an admin login and user (a new one) so you can see the problem.
Can you help please?
August 29, 2016 at 6:26 pm #679081I’ve now confirmed this same issue appears on another client site using Enfold theme. Exiting users work fine – add a new admin user, and the Advanced Layout Editor does not working for the new user.
Obviously a serious problem for us.
August 29, 2016 at 6:49 pm #679089Hi!
We have confirmed the issue and we have send it to kriesi, for further investigation.
He is working now on a new update, so he will soon release a fix for it.We do appreciate the time and patience.
Cheers!
BasilisSeptember 6, 2016 at 12:40 pm #682574Is there an update to this? I have an open ticket regarding the same issues as do others. I am unable to make and changes to my pages and have spent hours trying different things and searching the forum.
September 6, 2016 at 1:01 pm #682587I am still waiting on this also. When will we have an update?
September 6, 2016 at 4:42 pm #682717Any word on a bug fix release for this?
September 7, 2016 at 6:49 pm #683299Hi folks, i found another user with the same problem and they recommended creating a new admin profile and logging in with that. It worked for them and worked for me also.
September 7, 2016 at 7:06 pm #683303We’ve tried it with a few profiles, though they were created with the Editor role first then afterwords switched to admin, neither of which worked.
I’ll try creating them as an Admin first then changing them to Editor and see if that bypasses the issue.

September 10, 2016 at 7:11 pm #684547Hi,
I deactivated all your plugins temporarily and then it worked again (s. test page in private content which I created with ALB). Deactivate all your plugins one by one to see which on one is causing this issue.
Best regards,
AndySeptember 26, 2016 at 8:35 pm #691922I believe there was another post in this forum that mentioned this but the issue is with the meta-box-order_page setting in the wp_usermeta table. (there also exists a meta-box-order_post) And I’m only experiencing this error because of a conflict with the Xili Language plugin. I’m not sure who this would be in charge of fixing this conflict or if it’s something global with Enfold since other users are experiencing this conflict with other plugins.
If this field is not present in wp_usermeta it will trigger the following JS error, here is the callstack:

if you have questions about a plugin we recommend to ask plugin’s author about it. If a plugin does not work for you and the author can’t help you, then you would need to search for a different plugin or hire a freelance developer to make it compatible for you.
Best regards,
AndySeptember 29, 2016 at 3:23 pm #693157Looks like it was an issue with Enfold, updating to the latest 3.8 version fixed it.
For user’s suck on an older version and are experiencing this issue there is a hacky workaround that worked for me. You’ll need direct access to your database to insert a row for your newly created user. Inside the wp_usermeta table you’ll need to copy the “meta-box-order_page” row of an existing user that the builder is working for. Then insert a new copy of this row for the new user, once that’s complete the new user should be able to load the Avia Builder.
September 30, 2016 at 2:01 pm #693737Hi,
glad you could solve it and thanks for sharing. Let us know in a new ticket if you have some more questions related to the theme. We are happy to assist you.
Best regards,
