Hi guys, sorry but the other has already been closed. The fix worked in safari but not in firefox. Please advise. Thanks!
March 8, 2014 at 12:25 am #234048Actually, doesn’t seem to have worked in safari either. I used the following code:
.hbl_region textarea { min-height: 0px; line-height: .5em; }
March 8, 2014 at 12:28 am #234050Hi!
What was the actual issue? i’m not seeing anything wrong in the chat in FF neither in Chrome.
Cheers!
JosueMarch 8, 2014 at 12:32 am #234055Hi Josue,
The name and email text boxes are much taller than they are supposed to be by default. Olark support told me it is due to the following code in the theme css:
#top textarea { min-height: 60px; line-height: 1.5em; }
I’d like to remove those rules just for the chat box if possible.
Thanks!

JonathanMarch 8, 2014 at 12:37 am #234059Hi Jonathan!
Here’s how i see it in Chrome/Firefox/Safari:
Check your cache, also try changing the code to this:
.hbl_region textarea { min-height: inherit !important; line-height: inherit !important; }
Cheers!
JosueMarch 8, 2014 at 12:47 am #234063Unfortunately it’s still not working, even with the new code. I’m still seeing it as per below:

Thanks for helping me look into this.
March 8, 2014 at 1:22 am #234072Hi!
Try flushing your cache, what version of Safari is that?
I’m not seeing the issue yet, not even in another computer.
Cheers!
JosueMarch 8, 2014 at 1:24 am #234074That’s so weird, version 6.1.2. Confirmed that it looks wrong in both safari and firefox =(

From a customer perspective this Get Our Actionable (and Free!) Crash Course on How to Buy a Diamond cheapens everything you have done. down to a level of a very questionable merchant
March 8, 2014 at 6:54 am #234093Hi Aribann,
I truly appreciate your honest opinion – this is something I’ve been wondering myself but I would like to have a drip campaign. Two questions on this I’d love your further input on if possible:
1) Is it just the text I’ve chosen or is it the whole idea of the popup?
2) Would it be any better if it popped up from a widget like the chat widget rather than the lightbox style it currently is?Also, regarding the chat box widget – you said it works, but is the name and email boxes shorter than the notes box or are they all the same height and very tall?
Thank you!

It is the pop-up et.al..
I will risk that a diamond client is of beyond avg means yes? so lets treat them as such, not as an old navy customer.
Sorry couldn’t resist, i am a strong consumer and that needed to be mentioned.
Your footer is in disarray with the hours, do not need to post the daily hours like that (perhaps a time open plugin is you must)
Remove the nav bar social icons at the top, you are fine jewelry store …not a blog
Remove the contact pseudo stuff from main page, you have it in the footer
Reorg the menu in the way a customer shops ie flow
Rethink(actually dont rethink it, you must change it) using the nav structure you have of /#whatever, Customers understand back button only and far worse for Google. So if I come from your competitor lets say james allen > kimberfire > jewelry > and then I say not much here lets go back to the main page (majority will hit back button) you just lost that customer. NOTE the jewelry menu choice really as is just going to bounce your customer straight away.
Get rid of as seen on… the could be blog post
You dont want those graphic separators
Contact form is off, post you email address
Alright thats 15000$ Canadian worth of feedback right there
You may need to convene a panel and get it all sorted
March 8, 2014 at 8:58 pm #234232No need to apologize, I appreciate the feedback. What do you mean by the “contact form is off”?
March 9, 2014 at 12:43 am #234322alignments of elements were off

March 11, 2014 at 2:48 am #235117Hi Jonathan,
Are you still seeing the issue? just checked your website today and the chat form looked okay.
Regards,
JosueMarch 11, 2014 at 3:16 am #235138Hi Josue,
Thank you for checking in! I believe it is fine now, I just used the original css #top textarea as I found this is the one that worked on all browsers. It’s not localized to the chat box though but doesn’t seem to be messing anything up. If you feel that it’s ok to make this global adjustment and I’m not missing anything then this is resolved.
Best,
JonathanMarch 11, 2014 at 3:17 am #235139As far as I can tell it hasn’t changed anything else on the site… but you know the theme better!
