Because of some restrictions of my webspace I am not able to import the demo data. (I get an error ‘demo import didn’t work’). Therefore I’d like to import the data manually i. e. outside from WordPress. Is this possible? I am interested in the demo data of ‘Restaurant Demo’. I have access to FTP and SSH. Thanks for any help!

Thank you for using Enfold.
Use the WordPress importer, go to Tools > Import then upload the restaurant.xml file located on wp-content > themes > enfold > includes > admin > demo_files folder.

thank you, I’ll try it. But first:
What would be the cleanest way to try different demo data? I could image that it’s not a good idea to load every demo data in the same theme. Or is this no problem at all? Yesterday I installed the child theme, and loaded the default demo data.Best regards,
Thorsten
January 28, 2015 at 8:15 am #386792Hey!
You need to create a fresh installation of WP if you want to try all the demo. Each demo will override the previous one if there is any, stacking pages, theme options, widgets etc.

I have the same problem for which I posted a support ticket since an hour or so.
This would help me much if I know what xml file is for the default demo.
I tried to figure out its name inside the mentioned folder, but I think it is not included.
I appreciate you quick reply.
Thank you.February 28, 2015 at 11:49 pm #403949Hey!
The default one is /includes/demo/dummy.xml.
Cheers!
JosueMarch 1, 2015 at 12:40 am #403962Hello Josue,
Thanks a lot for trying to help.
But, I tried this file, and it failed, and even other demo’s xml files, all failed!
It was via WP importer, and the result was just “Failed to …..” for every entry / post or whatever.
I think there is a security issue at this unix server.Regards.
