Hello,
problem when trying to edit input field in enfold- editor backend:
I think it comes up after updating to WordPress 5.6:
– I can´t edit the “Special Heading” Element anymore. Number and Type is not working.
– Same problem when I try to change the margin settings for a column. No change of the numbers possible.
– It looks like every input box in the editor has this problem.
– It´s funny: right click => insert works (copy and paste into the input field)I tried deactivating all plugins => same problem.
Changed Browser => same problem
Changed user => same problem (I am Superadmin in a multisite network)
First time I have this problem …
February 2, 2021 at 10:43 am #1277042Hey dillionline,
Does the same problem happen if you activate the parent theme? If not then it’s likely caused by something in your child theme. I wanted to check the content of it, but the Appearance->Editor function is turned off on your installation.

February 3, 2021 at 2:25 pm #1277366Hello,
“Does the same problem happen if you activate the parent theme?”
=> NO, I activated the Parent Enfold Theme for example at the “ES” Site (the spanish version). When tried to inser a new special heading in the Enfold-Editor and tried to edit ist it works! So maybe the Child Theme is the problem? But what happend? It works before WordPress 5.6 …- This reply was modified 3 years, 9 months ago by dillionline.
February 4, 2021 at 12:43 pm #1277671Hi,
Thanks for the update. I checked your child theme functions.php file, but I couldn’t see anything obvious wrong with it. Please try to remove all your customisations, then add them back one by one, to see which block of code is causing the problem on your installation.
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 4, 2021 at 1:10 pm #1277680“Please try to remove all your customisations, then add them back one by one, to see which block of code is causing the problem on your installation. ”
=> You meen all the customisations in the function.php file?February 5, 2021 at 10:26 am #1277926Hi,
You meen all the customisations in the function.php file?
Yes, exactly. Then check if the problem persists. If it doesn’t, then you can add your customisations back, one by one, to see when the problem starts again.

RikardFebruary 5, 2021 at 4:20 pm #1278065Hello,
no it´s not working.
I deleted the whole content in /themes/enfold-child/functions.php
and finaly renamed it to “DISABLED_functions.php” nothing happens, problem is still alive. No editing of Input fields in the ENFOLD Backend.You can have a look, the file is still empty.
Should i rollback to a previous WordPress-Version?
Should I copy new ENFOLD Files an overwrite the existing?
February 6, 2021 at 1:29 pm #1278242Hi,
Thanks for the update. Please try installing this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/transients-manager/, then clear all the WordPress transients, to see if that helps. Make sure that you have a backup of the site, before you do this.
If that doesn’t help either, then please try uploading the theme again, using a fresh download from your Themeforest account.
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 10, 2021 at 11:25 pm #1279619Hi,
nothing works, sorry:
You can have a look.
– I copied the whole new “enfold” folder from a themeforest download to the webserver (1st try: WinSCP Standard Transfer Mode, 2nd try: Binary Transfer Mode)
– function.php in the child theme is disabled
– All transients are deleted
– I tested in Firefox and Google Chrome– right click => insert works (copy and paste into the input field)
Remember: I think it comes up with the WordPress Update …
February 12, 2021 at 1:43 pm #1280019Hi,
Thanks for the update. Please renew the login token, as it’s not working anymore. Also please share FTP login details in private, in case we should need to access your site that way. Also, would it be ok if we disabled plugins temporarily, for debugging purposes?
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 17, 2021 at 12:31 am #1281557Hello again,
– Yes, you can disable plugins temporarily
Credentials in private section.

March 4, 2021 at 5:57 pm #1285465Hi,
Mike has uploaded Enfold 4.8 on your installation and said that it did not help.
We think this could be related to a plugin conflict however most of your plugins are network active. Would it be possible for you to temporarily de-activate them for testing purposes or create a staging clone where we could test it?
Best regards,
YigitMarch 4, 2021 at 6:02 pm #1285469All Plugins are now inactive. Please have a look.
March 4, 2021 at 6:26 pm #1285479Hi,
Thanks, though there is no difference unfortunately. Keyboard is locked for some reason and I cannot event open browser’s developer tools when editing Special Heading element.
I am not really sure if it is related but your server requirements seem to be lower than required – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/hosting-requirement/
Max input time -1 Upload max filesize 2M PHP post max size 8M
I will ask our devs to check this one as well
Regards,
YigitMarch 6, 2021 at 2:08 pm #1286068I changed the following settings to php.ini in the root WordPress Folder:
max_input_vars = “5000”
memory_limit = 256M
max_execution_time = 30
max_input_time = 60
post_max_size = 32M
upload_max_filesize = 32M
max_input_time = 60Editing of the input fields still not possible.

March 8, 2021 at 8:37 am #1286343Sorry but i’m not allowed to give backend login.
Would be happy if a solution can be found, Not least because some editors write articles and pages, which is now somewhat complicated or impossible.Cheers Thorsten
March 8, 2021 at 11:29 am #1286387Does 4.8.1 solve this problem?
March 8, 2021 at 3:08 pm #1286462Hey Thorsten,
copy and paste works. Try it for workaround till ENFOLD has a solution …March 8, 2021 at 3:58 pm #1286470Hey @dillionline @Yigit
Yes, but the workaround results in making pages and articles by myself ;-)
Hope that Kriesi will find a solution soon!March 10, 2021 at 8:43 am #1287008Anyone tested if 5.7 and 4.8.1 change anything?
March 10, 2021 at 11:49 am #1287050Hello,
kriesi installed ENFOLD Theme Version “Version 4.7.6.4”. => no solution
I don´t know if I should update to 4.8.1?
Previous I was on WordPress 5.6 an that I think caused the error.

March 12, 2021 at 6:40 am #1287591Hi dillionline,
I’m very sorry for the late reply. I checked your site again just now, and the keyboard starts responding after I deactivate the Analytify – Google Analytics Dashboard plugin. Could you verify that it’s working on your end as well, if you deactivate that plugin?
