    Hi,
I just want to have the same behavior as it is on https://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/portfolio/portfolio-3-column/ : When I do a mouse hover on a portfolio item a clickable overlay will be shown.
    My shortcode setting is
    [av_portfolio categories='141,142,143,145,144,146,147' date_filter='' date_filter_start='' date_filter_end='' date_filter_format='yy/mm/dd' columns='4' one_column_template='special' items='-1' contents='excerpt' preview_mode='custom' image_size='large' linking='' sort='yes' paginate='no' query_orderby='date' query_order='DESC' av-medium-columns='' av-small-columns='' av-mini-columns='' av_uid='av-jwkhbuym' custom_class='']
With these settings I neither have an overlay, nor do the images have a clickable link.
The page https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/portfolio-grid/ couldn’t help me.

Additionally, I posted the login data to our Dev-System in the private content above.

    Hey mschwehn,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

The site is on maintenance mode, so we were not able to check the page containing the portfolio grid. Please post the login details in the private field.

The image overlay should automatically display as long as the item contains a link and is more than 100px in width and height.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael,
yes, you have to do a login first. I already posted a link in the private data with the credentials above but I also wrote those in the following private field.
    Thanks in advance,
    Matthias

    Hi,

    Thank you for the info.

We tried to edit the page but the builder is not displaying properly because the site contains an older version of the theme, v4.5.7. Please upgrade the theme to the latest version, then we’ll check the page again.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael,
we’ve upgraded the theme, but the problem still exists. Meanwhile, our website with the enfold theme is live under the url https://www.feg-wetzlar.de.
The portfolio images on https://www.feg-wetzlar.de/angebote/ are still displayed with no link.
I posted the new WordPress Backend URL below in the Private Content section.
    Best wishes,
    Matthias

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

We tried to disable the block editor but got an error afterwards. Are you using the new block editor (Gutenberg)?

We also noticed that there are two copies of the Enfold theme. Please delete the older version 4.5.7 and keep the latest one. And if possible, please post the FTP details in the private field so that we can check the issue further.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael,

we made some changes after your response:
The Gutenberg editor is now active: https://www.feg-wetzlar.de/wp-admin/post-new.php?gutenberg-demo
    You’ll find the FTP-credentials below.
If we delete the older plugin folder “enfold”, it appears a blank page at the frontend. Until now, we just activated the child theme “FeG Wetzlar LIVE” which uses the Template folder “enfold-v4-7” in the style.css.

    Greetings,
    Matthias

    Hi,

Sorry for the delay. The login account above is incorrect, so we are not able to check the files. Did you add or modify any templates in the child theme?

Please try to delete or rename the other Enfold theme, then switch WordPress to debug mode so that we can see the error.

    Hi Ismael,
I see that there is an automatic spell-correction in the FTP url above. Of course, you must use the FTP-host without the “http://”. Then you can successfully do a login. I tested it just a few minutes before.
With our child-Theme we overwrite some plugins and the template file “loop-portfolio-single.php”. And we add some functions in our functions.php.

With the active Debug mode the following message appears:
Deprecated: wpdb::escape is deprecated since version 3.6.0! Use wpdb::prepare() or esc_sql() instead. in …/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4735 Deprecated: get_current_site_name is deprecated since version 3.9.0! Use get_current_site() instead. in …/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4735

    Greetings

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

There are still two copies of Enfold in the themes folder, and there are a lot FEG folders, so we are not sure which one is the child theme. What is the name of the child theme folder? Would you mind deleting the older version so that we can work on the latest one?

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    #1241605

Ok, here’s the explanation of the folders:
“enfold”: This is an older template version (v.4.5)
“enfold-v4-7”: This is the actual template version
“FeG-Alt”: This is an old folder that you do not need to pay attention to anymore
“FeG-DEV”: This is a copy of our child theme for testings that you do not need to pay attention to anymore
“feg2019”: This the right and active child theme folder. This child theme uses “enfold-v4-7” as the main template.
If we delete the folder “enfold” the error message (see post above) appears.

    #1242506

    Hi,

if we delete the folder “enfold” the error message (see post above) appear

This only means that the site is not using the latest version of the theme. We renamed the old theme and enabled the new one. We also disabled the template files in the child theme temporarily.

The error points to a function called get_current_site_name which is not use by the theme, so it is probably from a plugin. Have you tried deactivating the plugins?

    Thank you for your patience.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

Sorry to interrupt here, but I have a ticket open for more than 10 days and nobody answers me, it is the first time that something so unpleasant has happened with the kriesi support team, could you please review?

    Hi Ismael,
thanks for your reply. I guess now the correct new template is used by our child theme.
But unfortunately, you didn’t change the Theme folder from “enfold-v4-7” to “enfold” in the style.css. I just changed that and had a look at all plugins. The only plugin which uses this deprecated function was “WordPress MU Domain Mapping” which can’t be deactivated. So I changed the lines 33 and 34 in the plugins/wordpress-mu-domain-mapping/sunrise.php.
But if I now activate the debug mode the error message still appears. I’m not sure if this has a real meaning for our issue here…
Although the new template version is used we still have the problems with the link on a portfolio listing page: https://www.feg-wetzlar.de/angebote/

    #1242840

    Hi,

The warning doesn’t really affect the site, so you can probably keep it as is. Unfortunately, we are not really sure where the issue originates, but we’re quite sure that it’s not the theme because that function doesn’t exists anywhere in the theme files.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    #1242912

    Hi Ismael,
But regardless of the error message I would still like to know why the images on the portfolio page (https://www.feg-wetzlar.de/angebote/) are not linked. Can you have a look again, please?
    Greetings,
    Matthias

    #1243081

    Hi Ismael,
did you change anything in the htaccess file yesterday? We have a new issue and I see that this file was changed yesterday.

    #1244152

    Hi,

Sorry for the delay. We didn’t check or change anything in the htaccess file.

We can’t reproduce the link issue of the Portfolio Grid element in our installation. All images have links, which either means that for some reason that the site is still using the older version of the theme even though we have disabled it, or that the portfolio grid template has been modified.

Please clean up the themes folder by deleting the older version of the theme and the extra folders that are no longer in used. This is to avoid confusion and to make sure that the site is using the latest version of the theme.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    #1244229

    Hi Ismael,

I have just deleted the folder “enfold_old”. Unfortunately the problem still occurs. I also deactivated the plugin “W3 Total Cache” for testing purposes. This did not bring success either.
Probably you would have to debug it further and check why the intended function does not work here.
The other folders “FeG-Alt” and “FeG-DEV” are currently still needed and need not be considered.

    Greetings,
    Matthias

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

Did you use the avf_portfolio_custom_image_container filter to change the markup of the portfolio image?

We have checked the config-templatebuilder > aviashortcodes > portfolio > portfolio.php file in the production site and around line 1048 you may notice that the image is wrapped in a link_markup or a link tag and the class attribute contains the name “grid-image”. The $link_markup array contains the correct values or markup when we checked, but this is not reflected or the link wrapper for the images doesn’t get rendered in the front end.

    $output .= "<{$link_markup[0]} data-rel='grid-" . avia_post_grid::$grid.  "' class='grid-image avia-hover-fx'>{$custom_overlay} " . get_the_post_thumbnail( $the_id, $image_size, $image_attrs ) . "</{$link_markup[1]}>";

Did you add any external JS script that maybe alters the markup of the portfolio grid items?

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    #1244987

    Hey Ismael,
after a closer look what’s happening in the code we just found out that the plugin “CryptX” is the reason why all the links could not be shown.
We deactivated the plugin and now everything works fine :)
So thank you for your patiently support.
    Best wishes,
    Matthias
