    Hello!

I wanted to update Enfold from 4.4.1 to 4.6. Theme updates says “no updates available”, Appearance-Themes says the same.

Doublechecked and renewed Theme Forest API key, no effect.

Then I tried to update the theme manually (only the main theme, not the child theme), the website broke totally. All design was gone. I brought the backup of the theme and the database back, the design came back with minor design changes.

There are a lot of customizations in the theme. I think that caused the error.

What is the best way to update the theme? I followed https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-update/.

    Thanks
    Dirk

    Hey Dirk,

Since you are currently using a version older than 4.5, you would need to manually update the theme and after that auto update should work. You can find update instructions and more information on this post – https://kriesi.at/support/topic/updating-to-enfold-4-5-and-validating-personal-token/

We would recommend you to update the theme on a testing server first. If you still have issues on your testing server, please point them out so we can look into it :)

    Best regards,
    Yigit

    Hi Yigit,

we updated Enfold to 4.7.3 and all worked fine. Now that 4.7.4 is available I was awaiting I can update the theme via the WordPress backend, but it says: “Keine Aktualisierung verfügbar. Du verwendest die letzte Version! (4.7.3)” (no update available. Key is connected.

    What can that be?

    Thanks!

    Hi Dirk,

Could you please contact your hosting provider and ask them to whitelist api.envato.com. They might be blocking it for security reasons.

Another user who was having the same issue contacted their hosting provider and replied:

our hoster has updated the Linux distribution of the server.
The cause of the problem was probably the incompatibilities of the versions of OpenSSL with cURL.

Now the token API works :-)

This happens when there is connection issue between your host and Envato API. This is not related to Enfold, it is related to server settings.

    Best regards,
    Yigit

    Hi Yigit,

thanks for the hint. I tried that by white-listing the IP via Wordfence. IP is 104.18.252.82, right? Had no effect.

I will also talk to our provider.

    Thanks!

    Hey guys,

we deinstalled Wordfence after our hoster couldn’t find any errors.

This had the effect that the Enfold Theme Update section now says: “Last successful check was on 2020/04/02 11:06.”

But nonetheless it says: Keine Aktualisierung verfügbar. Du verwendest die letzte Version! (4.7.3)

Just to be sure: 7.4.7 is delivered automatically, right?

    Thanks
    Dirk

And is it possible to look into the Enfold debug files somewhere?

    #1201303

    Hi dirkmiddeldorf,

What do you mean by debug files? Error logs? Or Enfold change log?

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    sry Enfold Error Logs.

    #1201753

    Hi,

Do you the mean error logs? Did you enable debugging?

    // https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/#example-wp-config-php-for-debugging

You might want to update the theme manually this time.

    // https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-update/#update-via-ftp

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismail,

sorry for not being clear here :) What I mean is: In WooCommerce we have Status –> Log Files. Does Enfold have something similar?

The hoster is asking for this to solve the error.

    Thanks
    Dirk

    Hi Dirk,

No, the errors with the theme will go to the general error log where WordPress writes.

Not sure what the hoster wants with that. What kind of info are they requesting?
    Best regards,
    Victoria
