If you have a custom post type you cant delete nor rename the categories in that taxonomy

At first i thought you must “de-assign” all items from that categorie (what would be strange enough).
But now i realized that you cant remove / rename a categorie even if there is no item assigned to it.

    Please advice

    thx

    Hey kaMai!

I’m not sure what you mean. The theme has nothing to do with any custom post types you have set up.

    Best regards,

    Hi Devin
    Do i understand you right?
“If you want to use Enfold you either stay exactly with the options we gave you or you just have to buy themes somewhere else. Customizations with Enfold are not possible except a bit of CSS fumbling. Giving a buyer options to adapt Enfold to his / her needs was never planned and will not be in future. If you did any attempt to customize we are out of responsabilty. Go and ask someone else for support!”??

Its that want you want so say? I really hope that its just a misunderstanding based on my rudimental english skllls.
A reply instead of close down this thread would be appreciated.

BTW: we thought CPTs is a WP-standard since years – even tthe ability to have multiple of them.
To throw that functionality “over board” for the sake of some “drag & drop” functionality does not look very usefull to us.
    But maybe i am wrong.

    Hi!

Again, I don’t understand what your issue is. Enfold does not have anything to do with how you have set up custom post types. We are not WordPress general support and if you have questions about custom post types, custom taxonomies or something like that we are just not the place to answer them.

If you have theme specific issues we’ll do our best to help. Misquoting us or trying to insinuate something that we have not said is not appropriate for the support forums so please keep that in mind.

    Best regards,
    Devin

I am talking abot a fresh installation (fresh enfold & fresh WP) and not about our customized one.

But Ok – maybe its better to ask for support directly in the comments from themeforest.
Maybe that helps to get some proper support which is more than just “did you try to start from scratch?” (thats a qoute from one of your collegues)

    and btw:
“The theme has nothing to do with any custom post types you have set up”
It definitely has because its just a clone of yours !!

    #192299

A clone of something from within the theme is not going to automatically work. That is not something any programmer or developer would ever suggest doing as you don’t know what checks there are for a specific name.

What is supported through support is clearly defined when you registered on the forums: https://kriesi.at/support/register/

And yes, a very common thing to do when developing on any platform is to try re-loading things from scratch to verify everything works on the server/computer etc because things can change mid way through without you knowing. So making sure the base is still intact and then re-adding in each change in turn and testing is a very very common and effective way to debug.

Did i say that i expect a clone to work automatically?
I see that you do your best not to understand.
    Thanx for you attempt

    Back to topic
In a fresh installation WP 3.7.1 and a fresh installation of Enfold) without customization its NOT possible to delete or rename portfolio categories.
Do you support this or do your TOS says that you dont support installations which have been set up on mondays and fridays??

I just did a quick test of it and had no issues re-naming, deleting or editing the categories. See: http://www.screenr.com/eXPH

My guess at this point is that there is a conflict server side with the theme in some way. Either php version or fast CGI or something like that since there seems to be issues with the theme on your end that are not typical.

So if we can get some additional information about your specific server set up maybe we can find the root of the issue.

    Hey!

    1) We can’t access the server because a authentication window pops up (username/password required).

    2) Please create us an admin account and post the login data as private reply.

    Regards,
    Peter
