Hi,
is it possible to change in a child-theme / function.php :
the next and previous event?
The plugin we are using is event manager.
For the moment is the result the next or previous date of publication. The goal is to have the next or previous event date. Many thanks,

Thank you for using Enfold.
If you can alter the query parameter of the events, the post nav settings will automatically follow. The post nav script is base on the get_previous_post and get_next_post functions which can only retrieve the adjacent post. Please contact the plugin author regarding the events query.

sorry I believed those are wordpress functions and you might need additional coding and hook into wp_query to make this work.

https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_previous_post
+++I don’t see what this will change to the item that next_post in eventsmanager is the next publicationdate of that event.

September 9, 2015 at 8:55 am #500228Hi!
I’m very sorry if you have to ask back and forth, unfortunately, I don’t see any way we can alter this on our end. Please show the following link to the plugin support staff then ask them how you can change the order of the events according to “event schedule”. http://reintest.be/4AD/wall-of-fame/
If it’s possible to sort the events by schedule then the theme’s post navigation will automatically fetch the correct posts. Maybe, this plugin will help: https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-types-order/
Best regards,

i installed the plugin and the ordening in the admin is correct. In the pro version you have a option to sort by custom_field (_event_start_date) with option Field_type: Date.
The result is that in the adminpanel / events all events are sorted by event_date.
What is the next stap to make this happen in the frontend so there is on a singlepage a next and previous button?
Best regards,
leRenaarSeptember 10, 2015 at 9:27 pm #501316Hey,
is this usefull to make the make a previous and next button in the theme? In the backEnd are the events sorted on the EventDate :-) The frontEnd: do you have any idea?

Everything is possible, but that would need a lot of work to be done.
You can contact one of our Customization Contractors, who will help you out with the process.

September 11, 2015 at 10:59 am #501520Hey,
a programmer is hired for that job (thx for the link). I have send them a video whit the expectation so there is no mistake about the job. Do they need something from you? do i send the programmer this link? If not, you can close this topic as solved. I hope that eventsmanager find in the future a solution for this problem.
Thank you for all the patience and advice.
