Has anyone figured out why all new installs of the newest version of Enfold gives an error for this file /php/shortcode-parser.class.php file ?
I have tried a fresh install on one server and it gives me an error and I have no ability to do anything. On another site I updated a working pre-existing install and it also gave me the same error so now the site is inaccessible.I’m uninstalling the theme and installing an old copy I have on the latter. I really hope Kriesi is investigating this This is not a individual issue but rather a fundamental error in the build itself. Will a patch be made?

January 19, 2018 at 11:44 am #899600Hey Nicole,
Can you please give the full text of the error? Which version of php are you running?
Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?Best regards,
VictoriaJanuary 19, 2018 at 4:17 pm #899725I’ve reverted to the old backup for the site I originally inquired about that had the error after the update was run within WP. I cannot put my sight offline any longer to test this.
However, the site below gets the same message after a fresh install of the .zip and activation. It will not allow me or anyone else to login unless I uninstall the theme so to give you access would be useless. Here is the error
Fatal error: Declaration of avia_sc_comments_list::shortcode_handler() must be compatible with that of aviaShortcodeTemplate::shortcode_handler() in /home/content/73/6311773/html/dev/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/comments.php on line 14
Occurs at both http://dev.pacscl.org/wp-login.php and http://dev.pacscl.org
This is a fresh WP install. We can’t even begin to build the site.Nicole
January 19, 2018 at 4:51 pm #899734Hi,
Thank you for using our theme and reporting this.
This seems to be a PHP version problem, because we did not recieve this error on our dev servers.
Can you please replace enfold\config-templatebuilder\avia-shortcodes\comments.php
with this file:
https://github.com/KriesiMedia/enfold-library/blob/master/temp_fixes/Enfold_4_2_1/comments.php
This should fix the problem.
If you have peoblems doing this please give us ftp access to your server (private content) and we can do it for you.
Best regards,

January 19, 2018 at 4:52 pm #899736Hey Nicole,
Please contact your hosting provider and ask them to upgrade PHP version 7.1 and that should solve the issue you are having. If it does not, please post FTP and WP admin logins here privately so we can look into it :)
Cheers!
YigitJanuary 19, 2018 at 5:40 pm #899788The site I have been restoring is still having problems, I thought using a copy downloaded in 1/3 of Enfold would work but to no avail. I have updated the comments.php as directed in your email but it is not working. Any help you can provide I would be forever grateful. Can you login and try to see why the display is so odd and elements of Enfold in the backend such as the advanced layout editor and menu are not behaving anymore.
Thanks.
NicoleJanuary 19, 2018 at 5:41 pm #899791P.S. I just updated our PHP in CPanel to 7.1 – Still not working, my content is a mess. please log in and look at both back end and public view.

January 19, 2018 at 7:44 pm #899838PHP was reverted by to v.5 – it was messing up one of our subsites.
January 20, 2018 at 6:54 am #900008Hi nscalessa,
Which php5? It has to be at least 5.6.3. Please check.
Best regards,
VictoriaJanuary 20, 2018 at 3:10 pm #900097I just logged into MyPHPadmin and it says PHP version: 5.6.30. Can you log into our WP install and see what you can do? Our site has been down since Tuesday and we are desperate to get it working again. I believe something has gone wrong with the Enfold theme. If you go to http://www.librarycompany.org the menu has taken over the top of every page making other parts inaccessible. Our host after exhausting all other options believes its theme or CSS related.
January 20, 2018 at 6:16 pm #900143Hi,
Please try replacing your /enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-template-builder/phpshortcode-parser.class.php
with: shortcode-parser.class.php via FTP. Please save a copy of your old one as a backup.
If you continue to have issues, please give us ftp access to your server (private content)Best regards,
MikeJanuary 22, 2018 at 12:09 am #900515The file is not at this location: /enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-template-builder/phpshortcode-parser.class.php
I don’t see this file name anywhere. I placed the copy you directed me to there but the site is still the same. Please FTP in and see what you can do. I am REALLY desperate!! My superiors are losing patience and I am out of ideas how to fix this. I have to get this up by Monday morning Eastern time. It has been down for a week. Thank you. ~ NicoleP.S. What are your hours of operation? I get the sense we are in opposite time zones. I want to be up when you are working on this so we can interact quicker and not have to wait half a day. I really need this up by tomorrow.
January 22, 2018 at 11:30 am #900742Will you be able to look at this today? Both FTP and WP info is in the private content. Thanks!
January 22, 2018 at 2:42 pm #900813Hi,
I see that you have downgraded to v4.2, but it reads like you tried to use the v4.2.1 “avia-shortcodes\comments.php” fix is this true?
You won’t have “phpshortcode-parser.class.php” in v4.2 so that is ok.
I made a copy of your site and tested replacing all of the Enfold files, and disabling all of your plugins, with no luck. So I don’t believe this is a file issue, I’m thinking this is a database issue.
I notice that all of your menu items say “custom link” but point to nowhere, also your menu is all on the same level, that is why it is taking the top half of the screen.
I was able to copy the shortcode from your homepage and create a new page on my localhost, but I couldn’t on your site because when opening a new page this code it inserted automatically:<span data-mce-type="bookmark" style="display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;" class="mce_SELRES_start"></span>
and when saving your site will not stay in the advanced layout builder. This seems to be a TinyMCE issue I read above that you are using PHP version: 5.6.30 and couldn’t upgrade to v7, is this correct?
Sorry I was not much help, I’m asking the rest of the team to take a look.Best regards,
MikeJanuary 22, 2018 at 4:15 pm #900860Yes. we currently need to keep using 5.6.30 because one of our other sites on the server with a different theme needs to be dealt with first – it crashed when we upgraded to 7. I have many other sites using Enfold on this same server so I am really confused why this happened to only this one. The other sites are performing fine (ex. http://thelivingbook.librarycompany.org/ , http://librarycompany.org/nehsummerseminar/ , http://commontouch.librarycompany.org/) . No matter what we loaded from the back up to restore our main site http://www.librarycompany.org it remains the same so our host believes it is the theme. Will you be able to work on this today? I am very unsure of your hours. Are you already closed for the day as we are starting ours on the east coast?
If you have to upgrade the theme to 4.2.1 or higher and can get to work on PHP 5.6.30 please go ahead. I just need the site working. I need a hail mary at this point.
Thanks,
NicoleJanuary 22, 2018 at 4:32 pm #900866Hey Nicole,
We are from all around the world to keep support active :)
FTP logins did not work for me. Could you please check them once again? We are going to update the theme to the latest version 4.2.1 and apply PHP 5.4 backwards compatibility manually. However, this should not fix visual issues you are having. They seem to be plugin related to me. If we can access to your server via FTP, we can take a deeper look into that issue as well.
Cheers!
YigitJanuary 22, 2018 at 5:15 pm #900894I reset the password. See private content. Thanks. Nicole
January 22, 2018 at 7:30 pm #900940Were you able to get in? Any updates?
January 22, 2018 at 8:51 pm #900962Sorry to be a nag, but has there been any progress? Did you get in via FTP? Thanks, Nicole
January 22, 2018 at 8:56 pm #900967Hi Nicole,
Yes, i am currently overwriting theme files on your server however it is pretty slow. We will update you again once that is done.

YigitJanuary 22, 2018 at 8:59 pm #900970Awesome!! Thanks!
January 22, 2018 at 10:12 pm #900991Hi!
I was able to update the theme and it did not throw any errors however your site is still odd and issue seems to be database related. Have you made any changes on your database prior to this issue?
Regards,
YigitJanuary 22, 2018 at 10:25 pm #901000The host replaced the DB with a backup on Thursday. I have an old copy from May and another from July saved. Would you be able to do this or do I need to contact the host?
January 22, 2018 at 10:48 pm #901010Please advise next steps. – Nicole
January 23, 2018 at 1:37 am #901083Can you give me some more information? Why do you think it is the database? What should we fix? Please help. ~ Nicole
January 23, 2018 at 8:55 pm #901652Thank you for all of your help. The site is now back up.
