Hi Enfold Support,
I have updated to the latest version of WordPress and PHP and have updated the valid Envato private token on our site. We’ve been a long time customer and advocate for Enfold Theme and have several websites using Enfold each with a separate license of course at our institution.
Please see below since the latest version of Enfold listed that we have is:
Theme Updates
No Updates available. You are running the latest version! (4.7.5)Is there any reason why the latest version 5.0+ isn’t available? It appears 4.7.5 is from 2 years ago.
Thank you!

November 23, 2022 at 6:06 pm #1373661Hi,
The theme needs different permissions, please refer to this: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/#toggle-id-5. You can use the same token for the Envato Markets plugin though.
Best regards,
RikardNovember 23, 2022 at 6:17 pm #1373666I understand but if I set those permissions for the theme then the envato market plugin you recommended gets an error since the envato market plugin specifically asks for ONLY three permissions per the following screenshot below in private content.
Please advise since if I follow the Enfold Theme permissions, it creates an error on the market plugin you recommended and i I follow the market plugin with only three permissions, it creates an error on the enfold theme update.
Thank you!
November 23, 2022 at 7:14 pm #1373674Hi,
Thanks for the update. Why do you need to use both options? If the updates are not coming through via the theme backend as you indicated in your initial post, then please use the Envato Markets plugin instead.
Best regards,
RikardNovember 23, 2022 at 7:40 pm #1373683Thanks Rikard, I wasnt familiar that we could use something other than the one under Enfold Theme Update which is why I asked why the latest version 5.0+ isn’t available there if the token had all the correct permissions.
I’ll went ahead and updated to the newest Enfold Theme version via the Envato Market Plugin however my Footer page isn’t showing. I noticed the Default Footer Widgets & Socket Settings no longer have the option to select a Footer Page which is essential for our site since we use two (screenshots in private area). I tried a quick search on this forum but didn’t find anything and figured I’d ask you. Please advise. Many thanks!
November 24, 2022 at 8:18 am #1373706Hi,
Thank you for the screenshots.
We may need to access the site in order to check the issue with the footer options. The options are still available on our installation. The issue is probably due to a custom modification or a third-party plugin. Did you add any modifications to the theme, or did you override any template files in the child theme?
Best regards,

Thank you for your patience, I tried to login to your dev site but I get a DNS error, so I assume that this site is down.
I see that your live site is using v4.7.5 I believe there was an error in this version so you will need to manually update and then future updates will work successfully.
To update your version of Enfold you will need to download the latest installable WP version from your Theme Forest account and upload it to your WordPress ▸ Appearance ▸ Themes ▸ Add Themes ▸ Add New
after you choose the zip file and click install, you will see a This theme is already installed message because you are updating, you can continue
then you will see the Theme updated successfully message.

December 3, 2022 at 1:47 am #1374848Hi,
You have two different issues, the first one is that you are trying to use the API that is no longer in service, so that theme you will need to manually update as I posted above.
The second issue is that your test site requires the host file to be edited to connect to, and Envato is not going to do this so the Token on that site will give you the 403 error.
I recommend now that your dev test site is updated check that everything is working correctly and don’t worry about if it can update or not.
If everything works correctly, backup your live site then manually update your live site as I posted above. Afterward your live site will connect properly to Envato and you can update automatically in the future.
But I would recommend always testing updates on your dev site first and as long as it is going the be hidden, requiring the host file to be edited you will need to update it manually.Best regards,
Mike -
